Regardless, the reason one would buy the psp2, is the Evo (or any other device for that matter), won't be handling anything even near the power of these titles.

Don't worry, the cat will have one come next fall with a PS3 to match it.

Measuring at 7.17-inches wide, 3.28-inches tall, and 0.73-inches thick, the NGP is a massive handheld by today's standards. When compared to the PSP-3000, which measures at 6.69-inches wide, 0.75-inches thick, and 2.8-inches tall, the NGP seems only marginally bigger, but when viewed alongside the PSPgo, it seems like a beast. Sony's uber-portable PSP, the PSPgo is just 5-inches wide, 0.65-inches thick, and 2.6-inches tall.

The NGP is also notably larger than its direct competitor in the handheld market, the Nintendo 3DS, which measures at 5.3-inches wide, 0.8-inches thick, and 2.9-inches tall. The DSi, on the other hand, shares similar dimensions to the 3DS at 5.25-inches wide, 0.83-inches thick, and 2.83-inches tall.

Going even further outside of the spectrum of handheld gaming devices, the NGP is massive when compared to the iPhone 4, which is only 4.5-inches tall, 0.37-inches thick, and 2.31-inches wide. The most staggering comparison, however, is how the NGP stands against the iPad, which surprisingly, isn't that much larger than Sony's new handheld. Compared to the NGP's longest side, which measures at 7.17-inches, is only slightly smaller than the iPad's width of 7.47-inches, though obviously the iPad has added height of 9.56-inches, while the NGP is only 3.28-inches. The NGP is also thicker, roughly 0.75 compared to the iPad's 0.5-inches.

There's no questioning it, the NGP is a larger than life handheld, and from the wording of Sony's announcement, it could get even bigger. Sony cautioned in their press release that the dimensions listed were tentative, and "excludes the largest projection," meaning their largest prototype. On the other hand, it could also get smaller, but we doubt it. How do you feel about the size of the NGP? Sound off in the comments below.

I'm perfectly ok with that size. One thing these comparisons always neglect is a competitors handheld when IN USE. Look at them side by side when the DS is actually open, or even the go for that matter.

Besides, look how awesome that screen is

So this thing is not backwards compatible? How will someone play a PS3 game on it? Will I have to pay something extra in order to play that game I'm trying to finish? I'm definitely curious about those minor details. If the cost is sweet and I'm not paying an extra price for every game I have on the PS3 that I want to play on the PSP II, then I'd consider it. Of course I'm like ExtremeGamer. Not really a handheld gamer. I like the big screen couch feel.

Give me 32GB of internal storage and the option of adding another 32GB via a memory stick and I'll buy day one.

I agree but I just wish it had phone capabilities too. Now I'm stuck. Buy this or a new smart phone. I only have room in my pocket for one. lol

I think that's the minimum right there. I can't see this portable being less than that unfortunately, the hardware it's packing is just too hot.

Yup, I have absolutely zero need/use for 3g, so I'll gladly go with the wifi only option.

I highly doubt you're fitting the PSP2 in your pocket.... unless you have some cargo pants or something.

That's why you just get a case for your psp and keep your phone in your pocket, duh

BTW, in regards to battery life... the 3DS is estimated around 3-5 hours... so if the PSP2 estimate of 4 is on target, these devices will be very competitive in that regard.
