I've been having a lot of fun with MK8, even just the single-player.

Mel played a bit online the other day when I was sleeping, which really surprised me since she's not really a gamer.

She said the best she did was come in 5th, which surprised me even more than the fact she made the conscious decision to play online.

Set it up yesterday, got my little girl hooked on super mario. Didn't even get to play mario kart. But seeing her enjoyment from riding "her yoshi" was worth the price of admission. Thanks "intendo".

My little man doesn't quite get it yet, but hopefully he'll catch on in a few months. Mario is a ton of fun though. I look forward to trying out 3d. And the Luigi u game.

Thanks man. I haven't been able to play it yet, unfortunately. We had some guests over last night.

The entire time my boys were trying to get me to open the box. Right before they went to bed, I told them that we would open it, but that I would have to hook it up and play tomorrow. I can't believe how excited they were about opening the box and holding the controllers/game case. They're still pretty young, but they remembered Mario Kart from the store. They could even identify Yoshi in a video. This will be fun.

Not at all. You can get it with the gamepad for a little more than that.

No cables either. As someone who wants to see the Wii U sans gamepad I wouldn't touch these.

I'm pro gamepad though anyways. Love how I can watch baseball on my tv and play games with just the pad.

I'm looking for a little advice. I'm thinking hard about getting a Wii U. I have an offer for my PS3 with controllers and games for $225. I was thinking about doing the $200 refurb option, then getting MK8 at BBY with the Gamers Club discount. So that's about $250 for the system, MK8, and the extra game. With that price, there's no real reason for me to go for the MK8 Bundle right? Basically, I haven't used my PS3 but twice since I got my PS4, so I'd almost be doing a clean swap.

Also, how many games does the pro controller work for? If I wanted to use it to play most games instead of the pad, will I be alright?

So I got my Wii U yesterday and holy smokes I love it! I thought my 10 year old was gonna go crazy when she came home and saw it. Got the Mario bundle, MK8 and Windwaker with the free game promotion. Mostly played Mario Kart last night trying to unlock all of the drivers.

The gamepad is really cool, I like it a lot

The Mario 3D World game does have some special Captain Toad levels that have to be played with the gamepad, those a nice change of pace from the Pro Controller.
