This practice doesn't bother me, especially when Nintendo purposefully ships only a selected number of consoles.

I remember when the PS3 introduced the Slim model; I couldn't find one for months in my area (I live outside of Denver, so not like I'm in the sticks), then happened to randomly find the last 250gb at a Best Buy way across town.

Literally 2 weeks later, every store I went in had PS3's stacked up in the aisles.

I think this is a whole ploy from Nintendo anyway, the premium systems are all sold out, WHY..Well because the regular bundle is still available, once word got out that most customers were going to buy the Basic bundle, Nintendo got stressed and most fibbed about there premium bundle stock. You think Nintendo wants to sit on all those basic bundles.

I'll probably pick one up sometime next year. I haven't played a Mario or Zelda game since the N64 so it'll be nice to go back and play the ones I missed out on. Especially Zelda.

Even though I know you'll own one anyway, I'll bite.

My guess is consumers realized what a stupid idea the basic one was anyway. For $50 more, you get a $50 retail game, 2 years free of the Nintendo Network thing and bonuses, stands, and 4 times the memory. Seems pretty much like a no brainer to me.

So yeah, the premium systems are going to blow out first. This happened with the 360 as well if you remember, the premium was gone in hours while the Arcade was available for preorder for a few days. But like any console release, there's always the question of are they doing it on purpose to create demand or really out of stock.

I personally don't have much interest in the sytem, but if I end up getting it free due to selling consoles, I'll definitely keep it and at least give it a fair shot.

Completely agree... the basic bundle should have been priced at $250. Hell, you even left out that an HDMI is included in the premium bundle as well. I was actually talking to the manager at my gamestop (who, btw, is a pretty damn hot female... I know right??) about this, and she essentially said the same thing; why would anyone buy the basic when you get SO much more for the premium for only an extra $50?

And FYI, I would totally scoop up multiple preorders like you did if I had the money to put towards them. I honestly feel like you can make an extra $400/console.

That is what I did with the PS3 and Wii on launch and even well into a year of the Wii launch. I was making anywhere from $100-$250 a pop. I recall some people bashing me for it back in 2006/2007 on these boards and now they are doing the same thing. LOL! I do not see anything wrong with making a few dollars, especially in this economy. I wish I could do this again with the U, but with my job situation not being so good I don't have the extra money to flip and make a few bucks.

Here's my questions about remote play:

How is it working? Is it via an internet connection? If so, could I actually take the controller with me on vacation and still be able to play whatever game is in the system as long as I'm connected to a WiFi network?

Gamepad has to be near the Wii U in order for it to work.

I will disagree with EG and Jason. I don't think the premium is that good a deal. I guess they are bundling HDMI cables with the basic package (worth only $5 online anyway) so that's not an extra. Stands and charging stations - don't care. Those are things I have never purchased for any system. And that $50 game is worth maybe $20. It's a glorified demo that I don't want. Extra memory? You can get a 16 GB SD card for $10 on Amazon.

I can understand guys wanting those extras and for $50 it's OK but I just view all of those things like $50 of crap I don't need or want. It's certainly not worth $100 imo. Other than the larger hard drive which can be upgraded really cheap I don't want it. I'd rather put that $50 towards a game for the kids.

The charging stands alone are almost worth it to me. I use charge stands for all my controllers... SO much better than batteries or having to constantly plug them in... I never worry about them dying, and I never have to plug them in while playing.

I feel the same way but I want NintendoLand to play with my sons, so the bundle is a good deal. I'd rather have the white though.

Really? I've got two controllers (a third busted one too actually) and just plug one into the PS3 if the other one is low. I've never had to play while one is plugged in. Plus you can plug them into a PC or even a TV while doing something else.

If you want Nintendoland it makes a lot of sense. It's just not something I want at all.

Pre-orders do look like they are pretty much done in the US. This thing looks to be hot. EG is going to make a lot of money with those units lol.

That's just such a hassle to me lol. Whenever I'm not playing my controllers sit in their charging cradles, and I never have to worry about them. Plus, it's a nice little, and convenient spot to keep them by my entertainment system.
