I'm not sure why having components that are as powerful as he competitors means that they would be a "carbon copy". They can do this tablet stuff without the hardware being instantly outdated. The whole reason they are doing a weaker system is to avoid selling the system at a loss, not simply because they are trying to be "innovative".

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :) -

Re: Wii U Discussion
Im not dumping on the wiiu but I dont think its all they're making it out to be, and jmood is right, they definitely did this to keep their own costs down
I am frankly tired of being on the bad side of that... people say well the company's goal is to make money... well blow me down
Good old customer service and quality is taking the hit as a result of alot of these companies only worried about the bottom lineComment

Re: Wii U Discussion
Redeeming points for items, early demo access, or even free DLC would make a lot of sense to me especially for a new system . They need to draw in Achievements/trophies hunters by doing more than xbox and ps and then retain them. It's hard to jump ship to another system when you have built up achievements so securing early adapters is key.
That being said is it irrational of me to say that if Zombie U is awesome than I will feel compelled to leave work to stand in line for a Wii U on launch day?Last edited by WildFan22; 10-23-2012, 01:57 PM.Comment

Yeah, it remains to be seen what the experience will be that developers can squeeze from it, but things like 2gb of ram certainly goes a long way to temper expectations. Think only half of that is available for games right, thought I read at some point half is reserved at all times for the OS?

Re: Wii U Discussion
Well the good thing is I have one reserved. If it doesn't pan out I should have zero issues selling it.
Again, beating a game and having the experience is what I play for. Not trophies etc...
Same reason online isn't a big deal as I rarely play online anymore.
I just want SMB, Paper Mario, Pikmen, Animal Crossing to play on some relaxing evenings.. etc...
Which = Nintendo.
Say what you will but those games have huge following and is reason 1, IMO, why they always have successful systems, despite what "we" want or expect in the system.Joshua:

Think it's more of "We don't know how else to advance the gaming industry" than anything else.
Really does feel like it's all about prettier and add-ons as we've seemed to hit a brick wall as far as AI and advancements inside the games.Joshua:

Re: Wii U Discussion
It's not even a question to me really. I'm going to buy it because I buy everything. GOD I'M GLAD I'M SO RICH!!
Seriously I wouldn't recommend that someone buy this as their only console, but it will complement the others very well, I'm sure.Comment
