It is starting to get really hard to 100% the worlds. I had to do almost every level in world 5 multiple times, and world 6 is a bitch so far. I don't think I could do it without doing co op.

Picked up a Zelda Wii U today and 3D World. Going to download EarthBound too. I will pick up some more games when there's some deals. Definitely want W101 and Pikman 3, maybe ZombiU. Also, having never owned a Wii there's several games I want to check out. I wish I would have got Xenoblade on BF though.

Totally agree. The reviews IMO were BS. Some of he negatives were because of things like the game not pausing when going into your bag etc..
That made the game even more nerve racking as the game continues on while looking at the bag inventory. It really is a very good game. It does have some issues but a must own for WiiU IMO.

                Re: Wii U Discussion

One huge thing that is killing Nintendo is their refusal to conform to the online standard. I have a choice of either buying my sister a Wii U or an Xbox One as a Christmas gift. I would love to buy her a Wii U as we both enjoy playing Nintendo games together. But where is the chat system? Why is the new Mario game not online co op? Things that have been standard for quite a while. So unfortunately I will be buying her an Xbox so we can actually play games together.

If online and chat is most important then yeah go with something else. Personally Nintendo systems are my alone time or at the most couch co op.
Never really thought about Nintendo being an online machine

                    Re: Wii U Discussion

I just bought a Wii U for the kids and have a question. Does the Gamepad have to be turned on, even if not using, when playing games? I ask because my kids are playing with the Wii controllers; however, every game they play, the gamepad turns on automatically and "streams" the gameplay. Is there any way to leave the gamepad off while playing with regular controllers?

Good question but I don't believe so. I just leave mine up on shelf hooked up to charger when not using it.

I figured out you can turn off the gamepad display, but the pad itself remains on. Oh well...

Really stoked to be getting a Wii U. Plan on picking one up in a week or so (selling stuff on eBay to get it). Excited to get back to the FUN part of video gaming!

It's well worth it IMO for what it delivers...pure Nintendo fun.
There's some cross platform games also but I mainly get the Nintendo games.
ZombiU, Pikmen, Wind Waker and especially SMB 3D World have been great times.

And that is exactly what I'm looking forward to. PS3 has been okay, but I've spent most of my time with it just frustrated that I can't find the type of fun games that I'm used to from my N64/GameCube days. So stoked to get back them!

Pikmen is one at the top my list for sure, but I'm most excited for the new Mario Kart when it comes out. First I'm just gonna focus on New Super Mario Bros U being it comes with that haha

Really enjoying the The Wonderful 101. The characters, the charm, the humor, and the crazy over-the-top action you would expect from Platinum Games. The drawing mechanics, complex systems, and lack of handholding make it not the most accessible game in the world. The drawing mechanics for most of the Unite Morphs are somewhat akin to Street Fighter motions. Watching these breakdown videos helped a lot to understand more and they show the sheer depth of the game's systems. I'm still not great at it, but it's so much fun and there's tons of variety.

Super Mario 3D world is really really good too (shocking). Not sure what else to say about it besides it's one joyful *** game.

I got Pikman 3 and still Wind Waker HD that came with the system that I'm looking forward to checking out. Also, ZombiU demo sold me on the game. I will be picking that up at some point.

Overall I'm enjoying this little system. Not a ton of flash, but a quite a bit of substance with its software. Shame it's bombing so hard.
