I wonder how 3rd party developers will use the screen on the controller or if it will get ignored like sixaxis for the PS3 controller.

I love the potential of the second screen. If the price is right, I'll be getting this on day 1.

Nintendo will have a run of 1-3 years with this before the next Xbox and PS are released. I wonder how much will it sell though? No reason for 360/PS3 users to get it unless they really want that controller. Will it be enough for the casual Wii users to upgrade?

nintendo put themselves in a dumb position.

They'll get blown away by the next xbox and playstation in a few years, and getting wii users to upgrade to this is risky with MS pushing Kinect hard.

Nintendo being Nintendo, and they'll no doubt put out some great 1st party stuff regardless.

Really it sounds like this console has a lot of potential, but the key I think is the third party developers. Are they going to take advantage of this technology to make it worthwhile.

I'm infinitely more interested in this than I ever was with the Wii.

Really it sounds like this console has a lot of potential, but the key I think is the third party developers. Are they going to take advantage of this technology to make it worthwhile.

I heard the same buzz from them about the Wii, and look what happened. So my breath wont be held.

I am just glad they entered the HD era, I personally think they took a conservative route like they did the Wii. Since Nintendo loves to profit per system... where as MSFT and Sony will give cutting edge and take a hit.

Sadly if MSFT and Sony show their next consoles next year, this will be an afterthought power wise. But seeing how it is on par, it affords MSFT and Sony to actually not rush out and come out with a new system.

They are selling a system that looks to be exactly the same as what we have right now, graphics-wise, except with a gigantic controller. It's typical Nintendo nonsense. We still don't know if developers are actually going to do anything different with it or how their terrible online system has evolved.

Well they got one of the biggest companies, EA, on stage stating they will. Plus a parade of others on film.
