There is a difference between a rough experience, and a bricked console. That's my point.

I can take issues here and there, like invisible players in Madden. A bricked console i can't take. No way to even submit an error report.

They have ONE wireless adapter. This isn't like a pc where they have to make wide ranging drivers. They have a very specific hardware set.

That doesn't mean there can't be issues that prevent those drivers from loading. Hard reset, try and sign in and out, those typically fixed my WiFi.

Definitely gonna be issues, but we shouldn't ever ship a build that break things like Kinect and Wi-Fi...and generally we don't. This must not be pervasive, because builds go through several other groups and rounds of testing before it hits public preview. If users were hitting these issues, the build wouldn't have been pushed out.

          Re: Xbox One

My Kinect hasn't worked for a few builds (have done all the troubleshooting), with every build there seem to be a couple more complaints about that on the support forums. I wonder how preview member kinect failure rate compare to typical failure rates observed by support. So every build I do the troubleshooting steps again and then report it.

Still trying to hold off on replacing it, with the HDMI/HDCP going bonkers on our audio receiver and the TV and Xbox One now on different TV inputs at least temporarily (TV managing connections and feeding AVR, rather than everything into AVR then feeding the TV) I've got a reprieve from the pressure for it to be fixed quickly.

This is off the current topic of the dashboard preview but, How do I tell if I have the most recent update for a game on the X1?
            Thanks much.

My cable box sometimes goes wacky HDMI/HDCP and flip flops resolution until it reboots (which takes like 5 minutes to come back up). I've swapped out my HDMI cable to see if that helps, but always really hard to fix it. If I connect it to TV directly it'll be fine, then back to Xbox it'll start being odd. I eventually get it working, but crazy.

Easiest way is usually to just trigger some online function, as games typically wont connect unless you have the most up to date version.

I have an issue where I cannot connect to wifi after latest build. Says MUT issue? Never ever had an issue with connection before. Have to unplug and reset router and then connect. Everytime I want to go live?? What does the new UI have to do with wifi connections?

And should I opt out until final build rolls out? Or is this being worked on. Very frustrating problem.

It's not just a UI, it's an entirely new OS. You are in the preview program, by all means opt out if it's not your thing.

Relax no need to go into defensive mode. Rolling out the 12th to all, so that is my concern. Plus I replied to stud not you. Thanks.

Relax guys. Yes, PMs are helpful in that you can ensure your issue gets seen. My PMs to Stud about my issues formatting an external drive ensured for me that he indeed saw my problem and ensured that it would get to the proper people for an eventual fix.

But, posting in here is also helpful because you can get an idea of if you're problem is being experienced by others and what, if any fixes or workarounds they've been able to find on their own.

That does sound frustrating. I know that networking and sign-in are issues the team is working on (not my area, so I don't know intricate details).

The whole underlying OS has changed, which means that the networking stack is new. Have you checked the official Xbox preview forums to see if others are seeing this. We have a whole team that monitors those daily and bubbles up issues.

Filing a bug (if you have that app installed) will also go to the team.
