EA is roughly worth around $40 billion. I'd predict a higher sale price if they ever wanted to sell. Closer to $50B
Bluehole Studios is worth $4.6 billion which has the PUBG game. It's still an expensive price but you have an audience and base. These devs could probably create another hit with their talented team.
EA has what 25 studios? (also counting mobile) Like you said. Not all studios are going to be profitable which adds additional unneeded expenses and losses. We've seen already many close down. Even some closed by Microsoft and EA (DreamWorks Interactive/Black Box Games/Visceral Games). Also, why spend multi-billions of dollars only to just to tear it down and devalue it? It just doesn't make common sense to EA or Microsoft when your employees lose a greater percentage of gamers to play your game. It's not that we're pissed about the possibilities, it's just a difference of opinion. Gaming is not Microsoft's main purpose in the market. I'm a share holder and would be pissed if they ever made such an idiotic decision. Microsoft should also take notice of the venom from angry gamers toward Square Enix when Tomb Raider went exclusive for one year. Microsoft needs Europe and Asia not alienate them. Not many there can afford multiple systems. It's just a poor business decision IMO that defies sound business practices.
