From what I have heard, the final build is way ahead of the preview version.

You guys are on the 10/26 build in Preview. The build we're testing in the office today is 10/29, so 3 days ahead. Lots of hard work and fixes in flight though.

So I booted up my xbox from rest mode for the first time in a few days so I could play halo for the first time. No image popped up. Did a hard reset and now I have this green loading screen that seems to not be going anywhere.

A Google search had a bunch of stuff from 2013 talking about a "green screen of death." The only solution from those posts is to do a full factory reset.

I'm praying this is the case anymore, is there a better way of fixing this problem? Do we know what causes the problem? Maybe my external hard drive went bad?

Yeah. I dunno for sure what the problem was.

I did some hard reboots. Didnt work. Then I completely unplugged everything, let it sit for a bit, plugged the power back in, left the Ethernet snd external hard drive unplugged, and it booted up.

When I booted it up I found the new UI download. I have the preview program, I never opted into the new UI or anything but it must have just automatically grabbed it for me, not complaining I like it.

I plugged the hard drive back in and it was fine, I was notified halo was unlocked and ready to play.

Maybe the pre-load/UI upgrade download/console just sitting there unused in rest mode while this happened combined to kinda spaz my One out.

Working perfectly. Really enjoying Halo, new UI is a very nice upgrade IMO. This is the first issue I've ever had with the console, probably a fluke

I have to get halo, still haven't as of yet, I have had the new UI for a few weeks now and I love , im loving everything Xbox right about now. 😊

have to say this dashboard update is probably the worst layout I've ever seen. I can no longer delete my uploads since that all is gone, I can't even play some of my games or apps bc it's so buggy and won't open, why can't I just use the old one and Microsoft stop messing with things that arnt broken

Only if you have the old dashboard before the 12th and never connect to Xbox Live again. This isn't like upgrading a desktop from Windows 7 to 10...you don't get a choice in the matter if you ever want to connect to XBL again.

The bugs and release pattern is similar to the Windows 10 testing. 2 weeks out you wouldn't think it was releasable but even the fast ring was always multiple if not several internal builds behind. Same applies to this update, they will delay it if some of these bugs remain.

Improved formatting on TV Details page
