Started playing Rise of the Tomb Raider over the holiday....Really fun game! Just better from what I loved with TR reboot.

I'll probably be sticking more with Fallout 4 still, but forgot how good the TR games were!

      Re: Xbox One

The way he stated it and I have read other places mention it is that these are not streaming devices which they will have that as well

The xbox one slim is to be 199 because it removes the disc drive and of course blu ray abilitity but provides a small form foactor and 2 tb hard drive

this is the reason for the low cost. 199.99 is a great deal for sure

if you like to collect games then it would sucks for sure

Picked up Rise of the Tomb Raider and Quantum Break during last week's Best Buy sale. I'm running through QB first, then looking forward to tackling TR. I loved the reboot.

I don't remember the last time I put a disc in my XB1. I'd probably jump on the slim and give my daughter my current XB1. She has been angling to take it back to school with her at the end of summer.

            Re: Xbox One

I'm sure you guys would know the price difference more than I do but how much does a 2TB hard drive cost? And how much does a Blu Ray Disc Drive cost?

I would think that a slim $200 Xbox One with the disc drive and a smaller hard drive would be the best option because it's not cutting out a large percentage of potential customers. Both disc and digital gamers would be happy as opposed to just one of them.

I don't think that Sony will show, talk about or mention PS4 Neo at E3 whatsoever as it doesn't make any sense to do so. Let the rumors go, go and go. For Microsoft, any talk or mention about Scorpio would make even less sense for several reasons. First, it's 18 months or so away (and to be honest, they should just go straight to Xbox 4). Second, if the Xbox One slim is true and launches this summer along with the current price drop to $300, announcing Scorpio would do even more damage to their console sales. Third, way too many console announcements isn't a good thing as one usually tends to overshadow the rest and in this case, the Xbox One slim and whatever else would basically be dead on arrival because why spend any money on that when you could just wait for Scorpio.

As everyone knows, im not a fan of mid-gen console upgrades and I'll be shocked if Microsoft announces Scorpio when it's 18 months away. They would be killing off the sales of their current console, their disc drive less console and their slim all in one shot.

Also, Microsoft should wait and see how Neo does. If Neo bombs, then there would truly be no reason to even announce it.

Will definitely be interesting to see what happens in less than two weeks at E3.

            ---

Rise of the Tomb Raider is awesome. Can't hype up that game enough. I still truly and honestly believe that ROTTR was the BETTER game on November 10th. And yes, I also believe that Mad Max was the BETTER game on September 1st.

            ---

Back to E3, im hoping and expecting to see gameplay of ReCore which right now is my top game after Gears of War 4 but obviously, we all know what Gears of War 4 is so im excited to see ReCore already.

I can almost assure you guys that Sony will not talk Neo at all at E3 as they will annouce that in the tokyo game show for release later this year or early next year but console sales are low usually in the summer so no need to even bother

MS will just announce the slim as Scorpio will not be announced until MS has their very own first time MS event next year like the Sony experience.

I also feel VR will be big for Sony this E3 and I feel they will announce a new controller that will have better battery life and come in different colors. I cannot say they will bother with an elite type but they might...

Guys I keep reading everyone's comments on buying external drives for XB1 and so far the suggestions have been terrible. First off the USB ports in the back can support 6TB drives per port. The system will have larger and larger DL games and DLC. Not to mention BC is going to grow massive after E3.

Invest in a few 3 to 6TB externals.

Here are some prices currently this week at best buy. And I've been using these type of drives since they first allow it, they boot fast and my games instantly load.

                    Seagates:
                    3TB - $126.99
                    4TB - $179.99
                    5TB - $132.99

                    WD
                    6TB $199.99

Yeah but all of those big drives require an external power adapter. Some people prefer drives that are USB powered, less cords, but they currently top out at 2TB. Trade-off for sure, choose what suits you best.

The portable ones are now up to 4TB...I, too, prefer these over the bigger desktop-type ones with the extra wall wart to plug in. They don't take up as much space and they are much easier to move around between consoles.

$120 for a portable 4TB drive is a decent price, too.

It'd be hard for me to go all digital being frugal right now. Like I just got the newer Tomb Raider for 25 bucks with a preowned coupon.

It is a good option though, especially as a streaming box that can play all your digital games. I'm more interested in all the Windows 10 apps that start coming, that will really improve the One as a streaming box.

Also Cortana, I'm hoping it improves voice reception.

The 'Scorpio' rumors of a new Xbox in 2017 that's faster than the rumored Playstation Neo really seems like a lot of hot air, but it's hard to ignore it when there are now multiple developers anonymously confirming they're working on Xbox One VR titles for said console.

                              Looking forward to E3.

Why would it not be able to play full games? It would just be all digital.

I was expecting an inexpensive device that didn't have the same power to compete with streaming devices. Lightweight access to the Live ecosystem (Groove, movies) and other apps.
