Re: Xbox One
Think my son will be fine w/ it, I kinda suspect a 3-syllable wake-word is probably one of the things that will improve recognition too.
And yeah, Echo lets you choose between Amazon and Alexa I believe.
Also some articles covering it say we don't have to be as specific, like 'I wanna play Forza' and if there are multiple titles it will ask you. I wonder if that applies to stuff like 'Guardians of the Galaxy (Plus Bonus Features)' being reduced to simply 'play Guardians of the Galaxy' (or even shorter).
Big improvements, looking forward to the update.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Microsoft’s Xbox has been the talk of the town in the gaming media in the last couple of days with rumours ranging from streaming devices, newer hardware, and leaks all surrounding the Microsoft system. Today, we bring you another leak that there’s a huge third party exclusive remake set to be revealed at E3 for Xbox One and Windows 10 that’s being funded by Microsoft. Update: According to the insider who shared this information, the game will also include “4 player co-op”. “I can’t specify which game just yet, but there’s a huge exclusive remake coming to Windows 10 and Xbox One. It’s a third party game being funded by MS. :)” So, what could the leak be referring to? Well, we have a few guesses for that: KOTOR Red Dead Redemption Crimson Skies Lost Planet UPDATE: Left 4 Dead Amped Dead Rising The insider also dropped another clue on the game: “It’s a great game to play for when the weather outside is frightful.” What do you think it could be? Let us know in the comments below.
Any ideas?Comment

Re: Xbox One
Console finally checked for an update at 7am, guess I just didn't make it into the first wave.
Yesterday I saw they were going to merge the Xbox and Windows Insider programs, and now Verge is reporting on a rumor I'd only previously seen a one-liner for:
Microsoft could turn every PC into an Xbox
Microsoft is currently working on a secret project internally, codenamed Helix. Kotaku originally reported on the Project Helix name, and the work is designed to more closely combine Xbox and Windows 10. Some of that work has started, but more of it is due later this year and next year with future upgrades to Windows 10. Microsoft wants to enable features like streaming PC games to the Xbox One, but sources familiar with the company's plans also tell us there are greater ambitions to make Xbox One games playable on a PC without needing a console for streaming.
Part of this could involve bringing the full Xbox One UI and system directly into desktop versions of Windows 10. The latest Xbox One dashboards are built on top of Windows 10, so most of the work involved would be customizing the interface towards keyboard and mouse. Bringing the Xbox One UI over to Windows 10 machines would effectively turn every PC into an Xbox One, especially if they're also capable of running the latest console games.
If Xbox One games are truly playable on PCs, then this approach also boosts Microsoft's Universal App platform and the ability to offer a single store purchase that will work across PCs and consoles.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Voice command people, I demand impressions once you use it lol
This update sounds amazing if it hears you better. I even read an article where they talked about how he used to sound like he was talking to a dog, now it's more intuitive and easy. Fingers crossed.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Xbox One
Still waiting to get the update. Meanwhile, on the accessory front, my Day One controller has been starting to show its age lately, just minor issues with the D-Pad and other buttons, but I decided instead of dealing with the hassle, I'd just finally bite the bullet. I've now had the Elite controller in my possession for an hour and I love it! It just feels sooooooo right in my hands.
