Re: Xbox One
For sure it's more expensive. I'm in the process of building one now.
However, games often go on sale; there are a lot more types of games; you can use a PC for a lot more stuff like Photoshop, Video Editing; 144 refresh; installation of mods, etc.
I own a Switch, PS4 and Xbox 1... but still find I am using my PC the most.PSN: Peji911Comment

Re: Xbox One
Would be tough to match X1X results at that price. You could build a PC for around $700 that would allow you to play more games at 60fps with mostly high/ultra settings at 1080p. People like to draw comparisons to an RX 580, but it doesn't have 326GB/s of memory bandwidth and 40 compute units like X1X.
Outside of some downloadable titles and Forza 7, you won't be getting that on X1X. That PC is considerably more powerful, but it's also 3 times as expensive.
Yep. Just one example is Forza Horizon 3. With the CPU optimizations they introduced a few months back, you could do 4K and 60fps+ with MSAA and FXAA off with a 1070 and a modern i5, i7 or Ryzen CPU.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Xbox One
Since Forza 2, the Motorsport series is one of those rare games on console that when they say 60fps, they mean it. Not mostly, sometimes, or occasionally, but at all times.
Digital Foundry on Forza 7:
It took John and Rich around 2.5 hours to back-up the 800GB of game data they captured at Gamescom. Included in that archive is new 4K video of Forza Motorsport 7, including a look at racing at different times of day. Check it out.

Re: Xbox One
Yet tragically the PC version has no HDR like the X1 does so it doesn't (IMO) look as good, LOL..Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Xbox One
It's 60 fps though. In a racing game, if I had to pick, I'd take 60 fps over HDR every single time. That doesn't even include the additional graphical settings. I play it on my 4K Samsung as well as my IPS 1440p display and I still prefer the non HDR version. 100+ fps helps though.Comment

Re: Xbox One
If it is on the console it's certainly doable on the PC, the number of people who have access to it is not the point. How many people even have high end PC's and yet they include all the other top end options on it..

Re: Xbox One
You'll get your choice at some point but you have to understand these developers have priorities and HDR for PC just wasn't on the list at the time. The few people complaining about lack of HDR support make less noise than the group complaining about performance problems with their xyz build configuration.
The engine for FH3 was in bad shape since it was clearly not designed for anything greater than 30 fps and consoles. It took them months to right the ship after launch.Comment

Of course it's possible. I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm saying there's a cost for everything and they decided that, for PC, there were other priorities. And I agree with them. Games to ship in a stable condition. HDR is a nice to have features. You have to understand that some games don't even properly support 21:9 at launch. HDR just isn't high on the PC list.
People want their wheels to work. People want a stable frame rate with countless number of configurations. They need to make a lot of people happy with a dev cycle that's less than two years.
Regarding the other features, what options are you specifically talking about? Vendor specific options are implemented because of a partnership, but a lot of other options are pretty standard.Last edited by sbauer318; 08-28-2017, 07:17 PM.Comment
