That's the least of my worries. Will it be a great game? Who knows, but I'm certain they learned from the mistakes made coming into this generation.Comment

Re: Xbox 720
I want to believe they did learn. I remember an article that quoted Cam Weber saying it won't be a complete rebuild. They will take what works well now to next gen and build the rest to complete it.
Basically ripping out all the bad code and re-writing it. But that is a good thing imo. I don't want a complete rebuild, unless they had like 4 years to do it.Last edited by PVarck31; 01-06-2013, 10:05 PM.Comment

Re: Xbox 720
Rumored specs
A developer on neogaf apparently coyly confirmed that what has leaked is accurate.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Would it really be that surprising if they went with a console that doesn't sell at a $200-300 per unit loss after what they went through with the PS3? Opting instead with something less riskier but still much more powerful than the 360/WiiU/PS3?
With an unreleased class of GPU instead of a custom version of an earlier architecture, MS is clearly willing to do the former - they can after all with the money the 360 had made them.
The PS3 hasn't filled Sony's war chest, it's made it lighter.
This isn't all great for MS either. A single dominant console is garbage for competition and sucks for third parties. I want Sony to compete.
So no, I wouldn't brr surprised if Sony made a less powerful console that put them in the black with a low attach rate, allowing them a much stronger position to wage a war of price points.

Re: Xbox 720
Can't really compare to retail pricing. It's just the chip that goes into these consoles and it will be custom, derived from that family of GPU. I would say "gimped" in terms of raw numbers is likely, with a lower clock speed, possibly less ROPs and TMUs. But like Xenos, I expect it will have eDRAM and a forward-thinking feature set.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

I see your point, but there is no way in Sony is going to make a less of a system compared to the 720, it will be equal or better, we don't know anything for sure yet. When we have real facts on both system specs then we can argue this, until then my friend.Would it really be that surprising if they went with a console that doesn't sell at a $200-300 per unit loss after what they went through with the PS3?
