Sorry I touched a nerve. Not sure where I was "squeeling" about Sony at. Sony has no answered a lot of questions on the ps4 as of yet. So that's all I was saying.

Maybe I'm missing something, but the two people you've quoted in here stated that they want more info from Sony and more clarification from Microsoft before making a decision. I don't really see any squeeling and I don't think that these issues are independent of each other in the context they are presented in. And no one is really saying Microsoft hasn't been awful on the PR front.

Who's to say MS doesn't touch upon some of the questions being asked from the Reveal during their E3 presentation?

They said all along they will clarify questions around DRM, Kinect Sensor & Always Online. On top of showing their lineup for both the X1 & the 360.

What would they have to hide if they address the above @ E3?

I think they're in a no win situation no matter how things go down @ E3.

Personally I haven't found anything seen or heard that has turned me off.

Now it's about games for me which will ultimately be the deciding factor if I early adopt or not

I wasn't aware we were discussing nerves here. Im talking about people who keep jumping in at any negative MS news with "well sony did it" or "we dont know what sony has" Honestly, what does that have to do with anything going on in Redmond Washington?

Makes no sense to keep going on about what sony didn't do on the eve of more MS news in the 360 thread...Thats my 2 cents.

I agree with you, and its sort of the exact thing I thought as well.

That said for anyone to come in here acting all surprised that people arent taking well anything MS is doing that looks a bit strange has either been under a rock or is playing the role at this point.

I'm sorry, but you tell a rational person that Microsoft isn't going to have the normal Q&A session after their E3 press conference, they are going to be suspect. And then after that E3 conference when questions come up by the public or reporters, then to say that Microsoft isn't even willing to field those questions it becomes even worse.

Any time it's said someone won't answer questions, the natural reaction is that they've got something to hide.

                Re: Xbox One

Jeff from Giant Bomb who attends E3 regularly just stated this about the MS Cancellation:

"That thing was so important that I hadn’t even heard about it until right this second!!! Why are there people on message boards attempting to pick apart facets of E3 that they don’t actually understand and extrapolating every little move to mean that someone or something is doomed? Because I can’t imagine any other person or group of people getting excited for or caring about a roundtable anything.

Hopefully it means that one more company has learned that roundtable interview formats are not especially useful in this day and age because most of the people there aren’t just looking for one quote or soundbite for their… newspaper article or whatever."
I don't agree with his assumption of message boards or it's members, but his logic around the whole thing is pretty sound

His logic is fair, but the natural instinct is "X isn't answering questions? What are they trying to hide?"

There are just too many questions for Microsoft to cancel a Q&A session, no matter how "not especially useful" they may be, especially if they aren't replacing it with something else.

The bottom line is MS has been creativeng a very stable gaming experience the last decade, and they are currently expected to deliver. Yet, you can't deny they have been sort of odd this go around.

Another thing to consider is that this is the first generation where the internet is in full force, making it very difficult to maintain continuity with all the rumors etc.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

Yeah same here. And I for one haven't seen enough to totally make a decision. A few tech demos and short game clips doesn't equal enough info for me for either system. Hell I don't even know pricing yet which is #1 concern.
Once E3 is done and I absorb whats been shown then I'll see which one I will purchase first.

I don't see the point of critisizing anyone who hasn't made up their mind or want to see more or who actually may like some things they've seen/heard.

                              Re: Xbox One

I recently migrated to PC gaming from consoles, so the only title I would consider purchasing a console for would be Madden. As such, I think I'd eventually purchase the PS4.

I really have no need for all these multi-media features of the Xbox One as I can and do already do those things. I don't want or need Microsoft to build me some "all in one" entertainment box. If I purchase a console, I want to game on it--that's the point of buying it in the first place (for me anyway).

So based on Microsoft's and Sony's preliminary statements, I appear to fit more in Sony's target demographic than Microsoft.

On a different note, gamers in their 30's (or older) are far from "old farts". Some quick research shows the average age of the console gamer is early to mid 30's, skewing about the same if not just slightly older for PC gamers.
