NB: "You don't need to know" is not inherently bad, which he directly states.
Penello has been taking a lot of heat from the community, but the man has been very honest every step of the way.

This whole thing about Resolution/FPS is an expectation that personally I have no stake in. The reality is the games are gonna look much better than they did last gen because of the upgrade in hardware no matter what Resolution/FPS they are designed in.

Which is why I found this article an interesting read

Yes sir! We are in for some great experiences, no matter which system we go with. I can't wait til the consoles are released and we can just enjoy the games.

Man I still so confused on what system to get. I still have both pre ordered but gotta to decide on one to keep.

I want the Xbox One just because I like Xbox live better and I like the exclusives for the system a little better also like the controller better. But something just isn't right I feel they are hiding something from us.

The PS4 seems like the safer choice and is cheaper on top of it. I could give a hoot about that tv crap the Xbox has I just want the system that is gonna be top dog when they get the games rolling down the road.

I wish we just flat out knew the info instead of them trying to ignore the questions until you buy one(talking about Xbox)

Just to play devil's advocate... There IS a large crowd of people that take umbrage with those very things. Maybe you've never had to deal with people pushing smart cars or villainizing those that drive big jacked up diesel trucks, hummers, etc... but they are out there.

Anyways, back on topic. I agree bigjoe. Penello has been nothing but forthcoming about the information. I don't know how many people would offer up "I was told that I don't need to know" in the same situation that he is in. I don't necessarily agree with everything he says all the time (some of it just doesn't make sense at all) but I give him all the credit in the world for being honest and speaking what he thinks is the truth.

I agree with quite a bit of the article you posted as well. Obviously not all of it (I'm admittedly a PC snob, so anything under 1080p and 60fps is a big deal to me as I've been doing that for years and I have grown accustomed to it, so there IS a big difference to me. Back when I didn't have a gaming PC and played mostly consoles, it wouldn't have mattered near as much.) It's not a deal breaker, but it is the biggest negative (in terms of graphical fidelity) to me.

It's like I will never say Forza is a bad game. It's not necessarily driving-sim like the GT series, but the fun factor is so much higher to me. That being said, if I point out issues with it that I have (no dynamic lighting or weather due to hardware limitations, previously mentioned hud silliness) doesn't mean I hate the game. Forza 4 is probably my favorite driving game ever made. The only thing that comes close to it is the fun younger me had played GT2 back on the PS1.

I've decided to get a PS4 first and an xbone later in the spring. the reason is I think the ps4 will be a better game machine for less money...I still badly want the xbon but mostly for the tv and multimedia aspects. I just hope the PS4 doesn't let me down with its online system.

Pretty much how I'm leaning on the deal. I just want the more powerful system that is gonna be strongest in the long run.

I'm sure this will be fixed before it launches, but this is apparently what happens when the Xbox One runs into one of those rumored OS crashes and can't launch a game.

                      Spoiler

This is probably easily fixable with a firmware update. Better to catch it now than after launch.

Oh man those xbox's.....I still can feel the pain of all my RRoD's like it was just yestetday.

Hopefully this isn't a wide scale problem.

Sigh of relief. Nothing to fear on the NBA2k front for X1. Same game. MS and their processes are the reason why it hasn't been shown on X1

I'm purchasing the Xbox One. I am by no means trying to tell people not to buy one or have a problem with anyone buying the system. I was merely referring to other sites/word of mouth talking about the OS being unstable. As for PR, it may not be fact (which could of been worded differently), it is widely believed that Sony did come out ahead compared to MSFT. Definitely not a fact.

As for my opinion on peoples choices, I own a Sony, LG, Panasonic and Samsung as far as TV's go. I own three different types of vehicles. I hardly judge people by the choices they make in life.

I'm sure the day 1 update will clear a lot of things up. It was more of myself hoping the system wasn't rushed or mishandled for launch than anything. At this point, there's no way of knowing I guess. I want two good systems, but think what you may.

Getting both, but the online is one of my biggest concerns with the ps4 and I just hope the Xbox one is reliable.

Definitely a good point, I'm not giving any free passes for issues but I can deal with software issues that can be patched via an update as opposed to the widespread hardware issues that came about with the early 360s.
