Major Nelsons latest blog is a comparison of the chat audio quality between the 360 and the One. The One sounds like a big improvement in my eyes.

      I agree that's a huge improvement...usually I don't notice little audio changes, but that's a lot clearer.

Recently began appreciating the difference in quality as my friends and I moved from Steam chat to Mumble. Used Skype for the first time recently and the quality was amazing by comparison. Not sure it's something I'd really use all that often on Xbox One though.

Video calls through Kinect right now are neat though, you can get up and pace back and forth while you're talking and it head tracks.

I am still super-conflicted about which system to get. I love Forza, and Sony doesn't really have anything to compete with that in my mind. Overall I have enjoyed my 360 much more than my PS3. But the $100 higher price and mandatory Kinect really turns me off.

I don't care about Skype, cable integration, or any of that stuff. If they would drop the price I would buy. I'm just going to play GTA V, NBA 2K14, PES and other current gen sports games until the price drops.

Same here. Nothing justifies (for me) an extra 100.00.
That $ will go towards a game etc..

Once the ONE drops the price (Which I bet will be sooner than later) then I'll grab it. Wife knows I may want one for birthday if they do in fact drop by them.
I also hope this gen LIVE offers as good a deal as PS+ does with freebies and discounts.. Right now it's no contest.

That's why I went with the Xbox one first. I love Forza and all my buddies are on Xbox live, and the online experience is better compared to psn at the moment. Even with the $100 difference. I say just go for it because the price isn't dropping anytime soon. Plus why hold back on the fun you'll have for $100 bucks?

                Re: Xbox One

I happen to think the Xbox One will do fine, but they really missed it with justifying the price tag. I understand they want to go for the all in one experience, but the core of it is still gaming and that is what is going to drive sales.

Because of that, Sony has two things going for them, "we're not doing what MS is doing" and the lower price point. If you look at it, what have these two systems really done to warrant an immediate purchase? I was listening to Adam Sessler talking about both of their Gamescon showings and he was mentioning that they haven't shown "A third pillar" to really take things over the edge.

I think there isn't a third pillar. I think right now it is all in the hands of the game developers. This is solely speaking in terms of their launches. There has to be big evidence that says which way to go and neither system has anything going for it. That is where I think MS took a huge risk. They could ride on the success of XBL and the already installed base of consumers, yet they went with trying to sell the idea of Kinect and priced everything higher.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

                  Re: Xbox One

In the grand scheme $100 isn't a lot of money for me. But I think what they've done (to me, at least) is clouded (pardon the pun) the concept of value in my head.

"$100 more for stuff I don't want (kinect) in order to play one game I like on a slightly less powerful system" just doesn't make me want to buy.

I don't want to buy a PS4, either, but if the Vita remote play is compelling, that might push me over the edge. I just hate Gran Turismo anymore...

I'm by no means a Sony fanboy but Sony has everything on it's side. And the main point is "games", exclusives. They have tons of top exclusives on the rise and coming for PS4 only it's ridiculous how many top ones they have over MS.

Question, can you name the last exclusive MS had that you actually cared about?

                    What about Sony?

Point proven. They kill MS in the games department.

I am a HUGE XBOX fan.. and I'll go as far as to say I'm a tad of an XBOX Fanboy. I have $ ready to give them.

I just choose not to pay 100.00 more for stuff I don't want and that now we don't even need.
                        It's as simple as that.
100.00 is an extra controller, game or a year of online that I'd just be tossing away.
Again I'm ready to hand MS the $.

In any case I really want to play DR3. That's the one thing at the start I wioll be jealous of...

well, it depends heavily on what games you like. Xbox still has stuff like Halo and Forza.

                            Not really.
I love Forza-well really like lol (Haven't been a fan of halo since 1) but that doesn't make me automatically want to blow 100.00.
Again this is simply MY thoughts.
Some may want/love the kinect add-on stuff and the extra 100 is $ well spent.

You are severely underestimating controller and online loyalty.

And most players play cross system games.
