I just think the PS4 more power talk needs to be put to bed, its a bit more powerful only due to its memory, and thats it, people need to that already, with what MS could do in cloud, the PS4 just can't..

I will own both by spring, but the one first.

      Re: Xbox One

The local Gamestop is supposed to get the Xbox One and PS4 demo units in this week. Saw the Xbox One at Best Buy today and was surprised at the size of it. A bit smaller than I expected from pictures.

Right now I'm leaning towards the PS4 to begin but will make my final decision when I can spend some time with both consoles and controllers next weekend.

I am getting both too but saying PS4 is only faster because if it's memory, as if that's a minor thing, is somewhat akin to saying a Porsche is only faster than a Corvette because of its engine. Granted both are great cars but there is a definite difference.

The PS4 also has a more powerful GPU.

Also, qeue Trapper re: the power of the cloud.

It's basically the same, but one is more sharp, clean, whatever the word is.

I know developers have barely tapped into the potential of these systems, but I guess I still expected a bigger leap.
Current gen BF 24 players, next gen 64 players. That's a huge difference right there.

If you download the high quality videos at 60fps available at eurogamer, put them on a usb pen, and play them back on your 360 or PS3, you will see the difference.

It's quite a bit more than the memory that makes the PS4 more powerful. I do agree that talk needs to stop being used as an end-all argument. It should just be one bullet point in a list when one is comparing the two considering what console to get for themselves.

Also, this "power of the cloud" needs to be laid to rest already, in general. It was stupid when Sony was hyping the "Power of the Cell" and it's even more dumb that MS thinks the "power of the cloud" can do a whole lot for their system like it's some new technology. Plus, through Gaikai when it becomes available, the PS4 can do the exact same type of calculations if the devs choose to use it. They just aren't touting it as some new breakthrough and using fancy words like "transistors in the cloud" and "Azure servers".

The concepts of it date back to the 1950s, it's not like we're talking about something new here - and we still don't have the infrastructure to make any notable progression as it would relate to console gaming. Remember OnLive? Remember the great SimCity 2013 launch that used the Cloud to do "complex calculations" (later proven to be false)?

I'm also gonna guess (not say for a fact, but just a guess) that these servers MS says they invested in (what was the number... 300,000?) aren't all physical servers. I'd be willing to bet that most of those are virtual, so the number has no bearing on anything. The 360 and PS3 already use some cloud features (matchmaking and stuff like that are already offloaded.)

Any time I start to think they're may not be that big of a difference between current and next gen...I go and watch The Division presentation from E3 or stuff like Quantum Break vids and that is quickly laid to rest.

Hell 2k14 and FIFA look wayyyyyy better...can't wait to play those.

Really FF? You can't claim to be a "tech guy" and then follow it up with "its a bit more powerful only due to its memory, and thats it". What needs to be put to bed is this power of the cloud nonsense.

Power is not everything, both consoles have their positives and negatives. Part of me wishes I could hold off on purchasing either to see where both stand a couple months after release. I just don't have the ability to do it.

The PS4 is a lot more powerful. It's all relative, though. A lot more powerful this generation isn't as much of a gap as it would have been a gen or 2 ago.

What needs to be "put to bed" is the stupid PS4 vs XBO talk going on.

Who flipping cares if one has slightly better this, or the other has slightly better that? No one. You'll buy which one you like, and in a lot of cases buy both, and you'll be happy with whichever you chose because the difference between the two will be miniscule and you'll never notice.

The only ones that claim to see a huge difference between one system and the next are true fan boys...and they are the annoying types.
