    Hmm...that sounds like it would be a winner too. Maybe I'll pick one up from Amazon Prime and try it. I'm waiting on a new TV so all of my cables are out and the bulky component cables are kind of an eye sore for the time being.

      The way the hardware is designed, it's physically impossible to enable passive passthrough. The Xbox has to be on to do processing. Some AVRs are like this as well.

      The HW was designed 2-3 years ago, well before I started working on TV/OneGuide, and I'm not aware of the discussions that happened. However, I did bring this up to the hardware team a few months ago, so they aware of this in case they want to make any changes in the future.

      Stud could you also take back the issue of BR Movies not being able to be bitstreamed. Right now everything is being sent as uncompressed audio via HDMI

        That's correct, but you won't be able to control what's on the main screen during that time. So if you are playing a game when you want to fast forward, you would want to pause the game before switching.

          Will do. You basically want to be able to output compressed audio via Blu-Ray?

                Haven't made the jump to ONe yet, I will but not yet. I was planning on getting an HDMI splitter so that from my cable box, the out splits to my Onkyo receiver as it does now and the second out from my cable box goes into the ONE.

                That way I can watch TV without my ONE on and my wife will not have any issues as nothing will have changed but if I want to snap the signal using One it will still be active through the One as the signal is split there too.

                  Stud;

                  This is what I did after setting up the XBone.....
                  It worked....but when I shut everything down and started it up later....I had to reconfigure it again.
                  This was using my Sony Digital A/V Control Center.
                  For me not much of a pain as my splitter is right next to the CC on my desk...but if it was behind my desk.....it would be a bit of a pain(unplugging and plugging it back in to "recognize" it I guess.)
                  Could be my splitter.
                  It is self powered though(not just a pass through)....so I can't see that being the problem.
                  I'll keep you updated.

                              Speaking of splitters, anyone have one they recommend? I'd like to have one just so everyone doesn't have to use the One to watch TV.
