My internet was in and out all day today. I hate to say it, but I won't be getting a xbox because of this if it is in fact true.

Re: Xbox 720
Yes, but again....it's not just YOUR internet that matters. The MS servers are the other half of the equation, and it's an either/or proposition. I definitely remember all the times XBox Live was down, and I'm pretty sure I remember the last time a game company's servers couldn't handle a new release...Comment

Re: Xbox 720
PS4 here i come. Not buying the XBOX 720 now. The always on internet connection is bothersome enough, but the Kinect always required to be on is what is most troubling(not 100% confirmed). The Kinect can watch everything happening in your home, in real time, in 3D, with listening capabilities. Cant turn that off while the system is powered?
I dont think many people understand the ramifications of this. Absolute power corrupts absolutely....I will leave it at thatLast edited by dcal; 04-09-2013, 11:01 AM.Gamevid4 |videos by DCAL |

Not to mention that the US's internet infrastructure is light years behind the rest of the first world (and some of the third world). When my internet becomes as reliable as my old landline phone, then maybe...Comment

Re: Xbox 720
Something I don't get is that people keep saying they don't care about games with this thing. I don't think we have the information to deduce that at the moment. If I'm running Microsoft, that's easily the part I'd want to announce myself. The only thing we've heard in that regard is they have multiple studios working on AAA titles. Just because the stuff about media is getting out doesn't exactly mean that they don't care about games imo. I think in that regard, some of you are getting ahead of yourselves in part because we already know Sony's platform.
IMO each of these systems will play 95% of the games I'd want, so I'd have to base my decision on the hardware, online, and added features (kinect, netflix or other stuff, etc)...
That's why I'm interested in everything else. Both of these will play pretty much the same games in a very similar way.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Xbox 720
Well, I did read it. I still stand by what I said. Until Microsoft has their reveal, then we won't know for sure about all of this stuff. So they are rumors. Will it be always on? Probably. Will it require constant internet connection? Could be. Will the Kinect be required to be looking at me while I play? I don't know. The point is, you don't know either. If those things are in the 720 and you don't like it, fine. I'm not sure how I feel about those things right now. I want to hear what Microsoft tells me before I jump to the conclusion that I'm definitely not getting a 720. That's all.PSN: Koolie_G

Are you skipping paragraphs on purpose ?
What i do know it's too many people including reliable folks saying the same thing...where there is smoke there is fire.
And who cares what people get it's their money. If someone doesn't care for an always on console that requires Kinect then that's their choice...good lord

Re: Xbox 720
I have to laugh at some blindly claiming the PS4 is the answer. Why, because they released their info first and all there is from Microsoft is rumors? Are these systems coming out in May or something?
Sony is making very large claims with their system and we haven't even seen what it looks like. And what about Home and the egg that Sony laid with that? How about the long period of time Playstation Network was down? Then you have Microsoft internalizing Kinect and people are all calling foul. Meanwhile, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery with Sony creating what looks to be this gen's version of Kinect's brother.
Not to mention this insane premise that we won't be able to set specific privacy settings that will stop MS from watching us play our favorite title in our underoos.
