I wouldn't call 6v6 optimal, just all depends on context.

True, I meant optimal to me.....I hate huge battles, like I said, it seems like death becomes more random and less skill based. Certainly more like real war of course but not very good, in my view, for gaming...

So you'd rather play a 5v5 match of Battlefield?

I agree with the fact that 5v5/6v6 is perfect sizing for the eSports mold. That's what Counter-Strike (really the first FPS to hit it big in any eSports scene. Quake and a few others were big, but never as big as CS got in it's glory days) proved... but when it comes to console gaming and just hopping online to play, give me at least ~15v15.

I would also say that what you call "randomness of death" has a lot to do with map design, rather than number of players.

Maybe you are right that it's map and maybe part of it I am just not as skilled but I just know I enjoy smaller matches online, it seems when I play large maTches I just die and dont even know who killed me or from where, gets old..

It's just a preference thing I guess because after playing it for 3 days I have no problem with 6vs6 at all. I look at it from within the context of what the game is pushing for which is more in your face, fast paced combat filled with lots of explosions and carnage. It was a hell of a lot of fun for me. And i'm not a FPS guy at all.

My FPS experience is almost entirely on Halo. Big Team battles had players that didn't have near the talent level as those playing in Team Slayer or Team Snipers. For whatever reason. Not sure if that holds true for other FPSs or not.

6v6 is perfect for Titanfall, the developers new exactly what they were doing. I may or may not have played for a few days

I've had a PS4 since launch and finally got around to buying a Xbox One on Saturday. So far I'm really impressed. I bought Dead Rising 3, Ryse, and Forza and downloaded Powerstar Golf and Killer Instinct. I've had fun with all of them although I'm pretty terrible at KI. I've enjoyed the tv stuff much more than I thought I would and haven't had any problems with the Kinect other than occasionally forgetting which exact words it's listening for. I'm definitely glad I picked it up and I'm looking forward to a lot more fun on it.

Understandable. It could use a couple more courses, but the game is pretty fun. It reminds me a lot of Hot Shots Golf, and that's a very good thing to me.

I think it's 15 now due to a sale on XBL...saw that on Major Nelson's blog.

I wonder if we'll get something on Games for Gold on Xbox One in Feb...hope that starts up soon.
