Frankly I'm itching for the new systems. Although I've told myself I'll be a 1 system guy this time. Hope I can stick to it.

Yeah it's been far too long. I've been holding off getting a kinect or a new harddrive for this very reason.

I don't understand why Sony/MS have to even worry about the WiiU. The word on Nintendo's graphics are on par with 360/PS3 or slightly better. That's not good for Nintendo if it wanted to get some of the more hardcore gamers on board.

And the CPU is sub par compared to the PS3 and 360. Can not do heavy physics calculations the other two can. And that will also effect AI calculations.

If the Wii U sells, like others have said, it doesn't really effect them. Its not a direct competitor, its like a computer. Wii sells may have some effect in taking away a few sells if it is a hit, but most likely not. If people buy it, they will have less money to buy a 360, but you can say that about anything.

The only thing they have to worry about is developers having 2 years on the Wii U and putting out games that are better than the 360. Once that happens, then people could stop buying games.

Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

                Re: Xbox 720

Microsoft is building its own 7-inch gaming tablet. Multiple sources familiar with plans within Redmond have confirmed to The Verge that initial hardware planning for an Xbox Surface is underway. Specifications for an Xbox Surface 7-inch tablet computing device leaked back in June ahead of Microsoft's Surface RT and Surface Pro announcement. We're told that the initial specs were accurate and that the final implementation is being worked on.

The Xbox Surface will likely include a custom ARM processor and high-bandwidth RAM designed specifically for gaming tasks. We're told these specifications could be altered to accommodate an unannounced Intel SoC and that the Xbox Surface is being developed independent of specific hardware architecture. Microsoft's Xbox Surface won't run a full version of Windows, rather this 7-inch tablet will run a custom Windows kernel. Messaging and other tablet functions may be supported, but the focus is on gaming.

                    How'd you get 1440p from 1280 x 720?

EDIT: I see it - I'm pretty sure the 1440p is for connecting it to an external monitor

That was the exact first thing I noticed too.

So I'm guessing that this will be "somewhat" their counter to the WiiU/Vita, no?

My guess is that the Xbox 720 will have Smart Glass (improved, more than what they'll have for 360), and they'll have this tablet that will perfectly integrate.

I don't even think its an old school thing. You're literally losing precision and control with a majority of genres without buttons.

I can play games on my iPhone/iPad, but they are not gaming devices.

Agree completely. This is why, though I love my iPhone dearly, I will never be able to play my sports games on it.
