The user interface is more then fine...I just think people hate change and complain to much about nothing.

The Kinect works perfect for me as I use it as it is supposed to be used.

People think you should be able to talk to Kinect like a best friend or human.

Like Machina videos on Youtube insde gaming..They always scream at the Xbox to turn on but that never works because you cannot scream at it like a human.

You talk to it with a simple tone direct and it works all the time.

The UI to me is fine and not bad like many claim. The fact that many hate Windows 8 means to them this has to be garbage when it is not

I use Kinect to turn on or off the system and get to netflix or skype or snap features with zero issues.

I can be playing TF and then just say xbox go to nba 2k and it goes to that game without having to exit out of the game with button presses. and then scroll to nba and press x to enter game.

Maybe its easy either way but why go through button presses when i can just speak in a few words and its done

Ha. I think we can continue to refine it. However, speech is great as a shortcut. Take something that's normally 3+ button presses and speech makes it easier.

I think its obvious but I was just kidding around on that last post. The interface was not good when the console launched, but its in a fairly good place at this point.

I haven't been able to try out the TV stuff because I don't have my DirecTV box hooked up to the Xbox One, thats a good example of when the Kinect is a good alternative to the controller.

NYGiants4Natic, I agree that if you talk with a certain cadence, the Kinect works fine 90% of the time. The other 10% can be very frustrating though, which is why I normally don't use it.

To bring the conversation around to a broader subject, Microsoft needs to do something to make the Kinect seem valuable to games. They haven't delivered in this regard(or really ever, in the history of the Kinect).

One thing Kinect is good for is the fitness stuff. My fiancée uses it for that a lot.

It will always be good for that type of stuff. Fitness, tennis, bowling etc. although I think they completely ruined the bowling. It was much better on the 360.

I really enjoyed what the kinect brings to the table for games like tomb raider. It was great being able to just say what gun I wanted to arm while I was frantically trying to get into cover.

Not a straight forward way. If you have a windows computer on your network, you can open Windows Media Player, setup a playlist, and use the "PlayTo" functionality to play music through your Xbox One.

Edit: Just as I try it today, it doesn't work

Well ordered some Turtle Beach X42's now gotta buy that dumb adapter for chat.

That's just sad you have to pay another $30 to use a basic feature. Why in the heck did they design it that way? What was wrong with the old way...

Hey, good news! If you try to get a replacement mic, you have to pay to ship your broken one to them first. Its really awesome customer service.

Edit: As if the Microsoft overlords heard me, now my second headset isn't working. Great.

Why would you sell Kinect? I mean, you have it. May as well hang on to it whether you use it or not.
