Re: Xbox One
They still need to work on party and friends, seems still to tedious and to many steps. KISS philosophy would of worked better, to many button pushes currently. But Im sure they will! Thats one of the reasons I stuck with xbox, I saw what Live was with 360 from beginning to currently, always improving, im sure will be the same with xbox one.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Went ahead and signed up for a month of EA Access. Madden pretty good on the One. Never got a chance to use all the voice commands on PS4. I find them really useful. May consider getting '15 on the One."Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell

B) It'd be super nice, but OG XBox backwards compatibility isn't much of a sales point. Saying "Sells for the XBox One will sore through the roof..." because of OG Xbox BC is... well... nothing more than a silly little fantasy.
I do miss NFL Fever though. That was a fun game.Last edited by ubernoob; 08-11-2014, 03:55 AM.badComment

A) That's an absolutely ridiculous conclusion to draw from one picture of an X in a collage.

Phil Spencer said in an interview a while back, that it might not be possible..Because the Xbox One is more of a PC build than a console build.
But if they can get Regular xbox games running on it, that means later 360 games will be too...
Basically truly making it a One system....all 3 consoles games will work on One console....this will definitely be a game changer in the industry to pull that off...
(crossing fingers)(I get Fever, NBA Inside Drive and NFL 2k5 back)Comment

Well your thinking too small about the situation....

Older consoles like PS1/PS2 (for Sony) and XBox (for MS) the architecture difference doesn't matter due to the steps up in power. The thing is, when you want to release a thing like this (BC) it needs to be perfect. We aren't talking about free emulators for PC that will undoubtedly have bugs because they're done by a single person/team without paying customers.
PS1/PS2 has been rumored for the PS4 for months now (see: here.) The change in architecture is a pain for those old systems, even though we know damn well how much the XBOne/PS4 blow the PS1/XBox/PS2 out of the water.
Also an interesting article from the creator of a fantastic SNES emulator about power requirements.

Re: Xbox One
Will making the One (or PS4 for that matter) BC really be a gamechanger though? It'll be neat but soaring sales? Idk about that.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Honestly with a decade of new techonolgy and same pc architecture, emulating games from the original xbox shouldn't be that hard.
It's no way this is a game changer for xbox one vs ps4 though...especially since the original xbox did abysmal to the ps2.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I would be happier with BC for 360 games, not so much the original XB. I didn't care much that I couldnt go back to my original XB when I got my 360 at launch, I just didn't care enough about the old games. With my 360 though, there's several I want to continue to be able to play because they aren't available on XB1, nor is a similar title on next gen. (Example... Ace Combat, Halo Series (as of now), Tiger Woods etc. etc) I'd love to be able to play them on my XB1 somehow because I'd rather move my 360 to another room/tv rather than having them hooked up together on the same tv.Miami Dolphins - Detroit Red Wings - Toronto Blue Jays - Michigan Wolverines - CANADAComment

Re: Xbox One
The best MS could probably do for the 360, as I said above, would most likely be a service akin to PSNow.
Disc based emulation is probably out of the realm of possibility this gen, unless they redid the hardware of the box.
Sony ran into the same thing with the launch fat system having the ps2 chip in it.
It's just not really technically feasible. Also, there's not much of a market/care for OG XBox anymore. Hell, there isn't even a working commercial emulator for PC, both because of how difficult it is and because... nobody really cares all that much.badComment
