Re: Xbox One
I've been wanting to get one = but I would really like one that can control all of my DirecTv DVR stuff too. The Xbox IR blaster is capable as it can be done with the remote in the SmartGlass app...but I cannot find a good physical remote with the same functions (outside of potentially a high priced logitech.)
This one seems to be what I am looking for (and officially licensed) but doesn't come out until October:

Anyone have any recommendations?
The Xbox one is just nice for controlling the xbox itself....we still like our cable remote for on demand and all that...just simpler.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Xbox One
I did see that one, but I can't figure out if it would or not. I didn't see a button for "list or "dvr" or whatever, Q/A doesn't have anything return for "DVR", and in the first page of reviews I didn't see it mentioned either. But for $25 I guess it is worth a shot. If it doesn't work as well as I'd like I can move to the bedroom once that PDP Talon comes out.
I don't know for certain though.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Xbox One
Anyone that has decent vision and doesn't notice a difference from SD to HD must have a terribly ****e TV.

Re: Xbox One
Love the new OS for the summer by the way
And my tv green check marked all 4K options as expected with me having a 10bit panel JS9500 FALD
Controller feels so much better in terms of how it feels in the hand and how the buttons respond
The console is so small I fit the whole thing with the box in my back pack
It is that small...Amazing jobComment

Re: Xbox One
Well I am sure the bigger the screen the more you can notice but really I think bluray and dvd's look about the same. Very small difference if any. I cant tell the difference at all but like I said maybe that is because I have a 720p TV that upscales to 1080p and not a full 1080p TV. So maybe because I don't have a full 1080p picture TV which means I don't get the full bluray effect is why I find bluray to be overrated. Really the picture was not the reason I really started to get bluray movies. The reason I went from getting bluray movies instead of dvd's was because I like special features and a lot of movies now get more of those on the bluray version compared to the dvd and bluray doesn't cost much more then bluray any more. Now 4k bluray's on the another hand cost like 10 or so more then regular bluray which is why I wouldn't be getting 4k bluray's yet even if I had a 4k TV.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I have a 37 inch TV which I would say is not small but not really big either. But I do think part of it may be the 720 part of it because I have seen bluray movies on another TV's around the same size and noticed that it looks better then my TV. I also think animated movies may have a bigger difference because of bright colors.Comment

That's your problem right there. You need a 1080p native tv. You don't need a huge tv to notice the difference either. Even on a 50 inch screen it's very noticeable. Upscaling to 1080p from 720 isn't ideal. But I notice a huge difference from 480p which is DVD quality vs 720p HD. Another thing is some TVs do a terrible job at upscaling. If your tv is 720p native it's safe to say it's very outdated too.

Re: Xbox One
OK Guys so BO3 installed and now witcher 3 installing. I will install Madden and Tom Raider along with others to see how the 4K upscaler performs vs the one on my Samsung 4K
I am outputting 4K UHD as resolution and the OS looks damm crisp
BO3 has improved as far as jaggies..It feels like a cleaner 900p and it seems the 4K upscaler is better on the XB1Comment

Re: Xbox One
I think I seen somewhere that it's best to have the Xbox do the upscaling, at least for the sub 1080p games, so they don't get upscaled twice. When you have the tv upscale to 4K, the Xbox upscales 900p to 1080p, then the tv upscales 1080p to 4K. I don't know how accurate that is, but it makes sense to me.Comment

Now I am outputting 4K UHD as the setting on my XB S and letting it do the upscaling of all games so my tv just outputs straight since it is getting fed 4K which is my tv's native resolution
No placebo here as BO3 diff looks cleaner on XB1 S when outputting 4K UHD from XBOX to TV
It does not look as the PS4 but it looks cleaner and sharper compared to it
I am downloading witcher 3 and will report as well as NBA2K which is a 1080p title and then Tomb RaiderComment

My Tv is from 2007 and back then i didnt even know there was such thing has upscale 1080p. I thought 1080p was 1080p back then lol. I got it for early xmas by paying for half and my parents paying for the other half. Back then it was 700. The crazy thing is now you can get that same kind of TV for like 250. I would like to upgrade and get like a 4k like 50-60inch TV but i am still trying to get out on my own from my parents and much more then the 37 inch Tv i have right now would be bad for your eyes with how close i have to be to the Tv in my room. When it comes to the size yeah i never belived the whole needed a big TV becuase i have seen 4k TV's next to regular HDTV that are only like 32 inch TV's and even from a distance the difference is really big.Comment
