      Re: Xbox One

I had decided at the beginning of this gen that I would be a one console owner, therefore I hate that fact that Rise Of The Tomb Raider will be an Xbox Exclusive.... at least for the first year anyway.

But, I'm not gonna lie. I was already starting to get on the Xbox One train with the news of EA Access and this could be the final straw into getting my all the way on-board.

I'm kind of interested in getting the XB1 with the Kinect and I actually saw a deal where I could get the XB1 with Kinect/Forza bundle and an extra game for $499. Then with the EA Access I could get three more games (I wouldn't play M25) for $30. It's tempting, but the only thing holding me back is the fact that once NBA 2K15 comes out I will probably never play any of those games ever again.... Maybe it's not worth it, but being patient and having will power has never been one of my strong suits.

With that said I guess you can see what Microsoft is intending to do with these types of deals. It's bad for gamers, but good for business.

If Sony would have gotten the Tomb Raider exclusive they would be acting like Eddie Murphy in the "I got some Ice Cream" skit. People are butt hurt because MS got the exclusive, not Sony.

Gamers (PS4 or Xbox One) shouldn't be happy about these types of deals. Your favorite franchise could be purchased next. For me this isn't about Xbox vs PS4.

Invest in new IP, buy new franchises, fine, but don't make deals like this.

I guess the new fact doesn't bug me as much as you...otherwise buying exclusives is nothing new...

Dont see how this exclusive helps Tomb Raider, yeah the reboot was good but it didnt sell that much, it isnt as popular as it use to be. I would think having the game in as many households as possible would be best for the franchise to bring it back to its former prominence, MS must have paid a ton of money for it. I rather have DayZ, I know what im getting the TR but DayZ is something different, hopefully it comes to XboxONE.

This is why I have both consoles. I hated caring about what console got what game. You know how pissed I wouldve been about this EA Access fiasco if I hadnt broken down and got an X1? Its all good news to me now because I have both of them.

That Eddie Murphy skit ends with them dropping their ice cream.

I think Sony, and some of those that tend to favor the PS4, have already been chanting "I got some ice cream." All we've heard is 1080p and high sales. Meanwhile, Xbox has been stuttering. But that whole "marathon" thing MS talked about is showing.

The gaming side of the Xbox One is now making strides. When you couple that with the peripherals of these updates, things are looking pretty positive for the console.

I think your comment is different from overall reaction, whether it's good for the gamer or not, is a separate argument. I'm talking about pure reaction, period. The Tomb Raider s*cks backlash would be huge Gloating had Sony scored its exclusivity.

I have a hard time factoring in the reboot sales. Tons of people had already played that game last gen and when it launched not many people had made the next gen switch yet.

I have a feeling a new next gen tomb raider will do pretty well.

                        Re: Xbox One

The exclusivity history in gaming always hurts the gamer. The Madden/NFL deal is our best example. Where it is somewhat just lame is with particular games being exclusive to specific consoles.

MS has this quirky exclusive thing it loves to tout where they have DLC first etc., and we now see it more and more with Sony.

Where I think it's a little different now is with EA Access and this Tomb Raider game. These are big deals, and I would agree that if Sony had them over MS, we'd be hearing "nail in the coffin" remarks.

Great points, though EA Access wasn't going to be exclusive, Sony just didn't want it because they want to charge more on Playstation Now or control everything through PS+ (though EA wouldn't get enough money through that I'd think).

Dave, I was using it for the visual, not the moral of the story

                            Excellent points though.
