That is your major complaint? The PS4 UI is terrible.

I don't think I would ever use background music while playing games and I listen to a ton of music.

This is all strictly your opinion. I for one do not want music playing over my games unless thats just part of the game. There are features from both sides I wish the other had. In fact I wish Sony would provide updates to the PS4 as fast as microsoft provides them to XB1. XB1 is a completely different console from launch.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

I have zero issues with the ps4 UI, it's fast and allows me to get in and play games and multi-task quickly. Yes it'll be nice when they introduce folders but it's not a major deal to me, nor nearly as much as missing a major feature such as music..

I think you are in the minority. I don't know one person that wants to listen to music instead of game audio. I can't imagine something like that being make or break when it comes to a console. Plus like you said you can still just snap music easily if you really want it that badly.

And yes I realize some of you could care less about music while you game but that's not the point, the point is MS is loading sales because a large number of people do care about the issue.

Honestly though I don't know how you guys would not prefer to be able to put on your own music while playing Madden or Forza or whatever. Maybe it's because I'm old and do not like most of the crap music in games by default though...

Give me some AC/DC, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden or Pink Floyd any day over the Roots or The Hives or any of the other typical in game music...

I'm not in the minority, it's one of the top requested features on the X1 wish list right now, if not the most requested feature...

And no I don't want to snap it and lost a large chunk of screen space. I want it to be like if was on the 360 and just stream in the background

I don't listen to music while playing sports games. I would like custom playlist for Forza, though. But I would want it in game, not background. Other than Trials, I can't think of a single game I would want streaming music in. I'd like face off music in NHL, but I want it off after play starts.

I prefer listening to music while playing multiplayer fps games. I don't typically play music during sports games though.

I'd love to see them support background music. My headset supports outside audio which is why it's not a huge deal for me at the moment.

For most games I play I need the sound cues, like Far Cry 4 and whatnot....if you don't listen for the bear in the woods you turn into bear food...

I get the desire for it though, and hope they listen for people.

Just not a feature I'll happen to use, but can see why some of you love it.

I had the issue for a second time. I tho k each time was not long after updates. It still cleared up with one hard reset.

I agree with this. I just don't think there are really that many people clamoring for this. Maybe I'm wrong.

On the 360 you could use the background music player to help with this actually, I rarely if ever listened to music (deleted/stop collecting MP3s ages ago thanks to streaming options) but what I'd do is play music and then turn it all the way down. This would turn off the music in games that didn't give you the option, making it easier to hear people you're talking to and was advantageous/preferable in some games for a variety of reasons.

I can see it being a tricky feature, the consoles are tuned/getting tuned for optimal performance, having to account for music in the background means reallocating some of the memory reserved for the dashboard. That could mean disabling of the game DVR or other features to use it or something. Look at all the limitations on the SharePlay and the USB music player on PS4 as an example. It's also not free I believe, and MP3 playback has to be licensed.

I feel like there's a decent amount of people that would use it. I mean, turtle beach and astro add music support to their headsets because people have asked for it. Maybe that's part of the reason why there aren't that many vocal complaints.

Most of my pc gaming friends always have music playing. Valve even added a steam music player.

I'm sure people would use it.

I can honestly say that the music player isn't that useful right now. It's better now that you can snap it, but I would never just play music on my one.
