I don't care about watching tv on my xbox, I have a separate tv just for that. I don't care about all the shopping and the skype...I've got my laptop...All I want is next gen games and free multiplayer...yeah aint gonna happen with MS. Sony has my money to lose.

      Screengrab of the Games screen.

Bottom left's a Crackdown orb. Bottom right has the Rare logo, doesn't look like any old Rare game though. Above that is probably Ryse? Top right image and that floating island between Forza and Halo I have no idea about.

Of course these could be just placeholder images.

What's this DRM you guys are talking about ?

What is it and why is it being looked at as a negative ?

-Your games will have to be installed

-you get a one time use code, in order for someone in your house to play the game they will have to use your console and cannot play the game on another console unless you move your gamertag

-you can not lend out a game or even give it away the recipient has to buy another one time use code which will be the same as the original purchase

-Your game is locked to your gamertag and console

The xbone has to connect every 24 hours.

          That should answer both questions.

Luckily for me I don't lend games (I don't think I've ever lent a game ever as I'm just anal about my stuff), My system will always be on the net etc..
My main thing is used games. Need to see exactly how Sony is handling it and go from there.

Will be glad when all the dust settles and we can get to discussing games of whatever systems we have.

I don't have other people in my home playing games, but I understand why this could be a problem if you have multiple boxes in your house and you both want to play at the same time.
                .
The checking in online seems like a non issue for most people. If you have a 360 or PS3 you probably have the internet connected all the time. It seems to me that MS will just be checking that connection sometime during the day and it's nothing you will ever know about. Obviously there is still more to learn about both consoles.

This is one of the things that I am looking at also. Right now we have a PS3 in my man cave that is mine and I do most of my gaming there, but there is also one in the living room that is primarily for blu-ray, hulu, Netflix and the wife to play games. But from time to time I will push a save to the cloud and pull it down to play in the living room as that is the better TV. While we won't be a two system house out of the gate, my wife from time to time does like to play games, and if I have to pay twice for the same game that is a non-starter for me.

Console gaming is a hobby in my house. We have 6 360's four of which have live gold...the xbox one's restrictions and design in general is not geared to my family, it wants to be a living room machine and that's the one place I don't have a single console.

I'm not really upset about the online once every 24 hours. However the deal breaker for me is the always on kinect. I have absolutely no interest in the Kinect whatsoever and refuse to own one. So if Microsoft decides they want to change that maybe then I'll buy one but as of now with that requirement it's not going to happen.

The xbox one will not function without the kinect.

which is why every console comes with one. BS if you ask me.

Exactly I've yet to read a quote to why it's a necessity either

There has to be an ulterior motive. I mean if you cover the sensor will the xbox one stop functioning? if it can't hear you will it not work...why design a machine that way? I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around it. Would you design anything else that way? A laptop? And if the sensor breaks, your without your console until it can be replaced...that's even worse.

It's there for the purpose of programming. Having it mandatory allows developers to develop for it if they choose to. I understand people's frustration with their ability to choose what they "Want" and "Don't Want"

I just think Microsoft is trying to take the technology to the next level. Both within gaming & in other area's of Home entertainment

That's a valid concern I didn't even think of. You have many probabilities that can go wrong that could knock out the system. Take your cable box or DTV system. If cable is out does X1 even work?
