I hope they don't start doing this on a massive scale. Hate to see Killer Instinct flop like this.

Re: Xbox One
The XBOX one just gives me a ugly vibe and the whole approach with used games, the kinect, and having to be connected just is a turn off for me.
PS4 will have my money this time. I also have my 360 and that has a lot of life still in it.
Games look amazing on both consoles, and I have my freedom and a better price on the PS4. Sony made it a very easy decision for me.Simply *Magic* Just click the link and Watch :)

I just don't think you can rely on this model for the fighting game genre. It doesn't work given how fighting game players actually analyze fighting games.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Man. I don't know. From the same article: "Jago is free to play on launch day. Everyone else -- unspecified returning characters as well as original fighters -- will cost money. Price is to-be-determined (of course)."

If Im not satisfied, I may leave the game, in which case its not for me anyway, or I pick up a different character and get more into it.
For pro players, they will buy every character and subsequent DLC character anyway whether all at once like full retail or slowly like FTP.
Its actually a very flexible format. FTP is as expensive as you want it to be. The big draw about it is that its free and everyone downloads a free game. Thats how you get your audience; and grow it. It'll be fine so long as the game is actually good.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I want to get the Xbox One but it is hard as hell to justify that decision now. The only thing keeping me on the xbox side is my brother's preorder (the guy I play online with all the time).
The things MS are trying to get away with almost angers me.YNWAComment

Re: Xbox One
Those guys will buy full price for every character. But for me (for example) joe schmoe; I see one character I gravitate to, spend 3 bucks on him and master him. If Im satisfied I get to bust *** online for 3 bucks with my one guy I care about.

This is where anyone who is a fighting game fan/player goes to post. This is where ALL the early adopters for fighting games goes. These are the people that set up things like EVO, East Coast Throwdown, NorCal vs SoCal, etc, and literally play fighting games for a living.
They are not getting this game (especially with how the Xbox One doesn't like you playing offline...which is the only way to completely cut out the lag factor in tournaments..)Comment

Re: Xbox One
Games like Quantum Break, Ryse, and especially Dead Rising 3 had my attention. I do hope that DR3 makes it to PC, because this game finally looked like it corrected a lot of the issues I had from the previous DR games.
If anything, MSFT should hold another conference soon talking about a change in policies and changing their launch launch price. As an example, some of my FB friends that are Xbox fans, which most are non-hardcore gamers even said they are making the switch. Word of mouth travels quick and the invincible Xbox brand did what stupid Sony did in 2006 thinking they were unstoppable. It is still early and they have time to make changes if they don't want to go down the Sony road of pains back in 2006.Comment

Re: Xbox One
After viewing this video I never plan on getting a XBOX one. Its freaken annoying what Microsoft did.
Im getting the PS4 on release day, and in the future get a XBOX one , because I love having both systems, but this video here just made me decide to never purchase a XBOX one.
Seriously what was Microsoft thinking??????Simply *Magic* Just click the link and Watch :)

Re: Xbox One
You never know, between now and 11/1 they might bring the price to $399 and change their stance on policies. Granted they would look as backtracking, but they might need to react at this point instead of sitting on their laurels. The 2 games a month for XBLG was cool, until they said it ends on 11/1 when X1 releases. To me that was kind of ridiculous and then they give 2 titles from 2007 as free.

It surprises me that XBOX doesn't remember what hurt SONY in 2006 and what helped them. If they don't exercise what you mentioned above. Things will get very ugly for the XBOX one.Simply *Magic* Just click the link and Watch :)

It's sad, because some of the games shown piqued my interest. I know I'll never get to play it though.
Forgot to add in something about the price: All these third-party exclusive games that the XBone is showing? Microsoft has to pay the developers for them. We're talking tens of millions of dollars. Granted, that goes for both sides but the Sony camp isn't asking for a price reduction.Last edited by ubernoob; 06-11-2013, 09:55 AM.badComment

It's been fun chewing the fat with you guys on this xbone debacle...but like I said in February....Sony has my money to lose and they didn't disappoint. I'm going to the PS4 thread...any other defectors joining?Proud Beta tester for NFL 2K Dreamcast
