You are just speculating and I'm working off of facts. A credit system would be nice BUT MS has never mentioned doing any of this.

I also dont get your cant be resold point. Wouldnt that be even more of a reason that MS should lower the price of digital versions of games? The fact that you can resell disc versions and cant resell digital versions is actually a reason to buy a disc version

Yep. Sometimes as much as 30 depending on when you trade it in. I can get anywhere from 30-50 if I sell it on Ebay depending on the time. Cant do the Ebay route on XB1.

What ifs dont work here. MS has never shown an willingness to offer lower digital prices at release. Why would I believe that once we go all digital, prices will drop to 39.99 when almost all games are offered digitally now at release and NONE of them are offered at a reduced price?
The same could be said for cd's vs mp3's.

I think iTunes has done alright.

It's not just me, there is a lot of speculation everywhere.

I am not claiming anything as fact. Just pointing out that model is different. People are viewing something forward looking from a backwards perspective.

If Microsoft doesn't price it right, it doesn't work. That's on them.

Completely different. There was a consumer need to be able to buy individual songs. Before mp3s, consumers were paying $3-7 for singles or buying whole albums for $11 or more when they only liked one song. When iTunes came about it gave people the opportunity to save money.

There is no consumer need here and MS hasnt shown they are willing to offer reduced prices for digital games.

No one is disputing that the model is different. You are saying its different and better and thats where I disagree.

Yeah I am not buying a XBox One as long as they have the kinect required. After hearing about MS being in bed with the NSA, then seeing the kinect is so detailed it can tell how much blood is in your face. That's the final straw for me. I don't love xbox live that much lol

And we are in year -1 of this technology. To assume its impact, or possibilities in year +2 on, I think that is naive. It could save consumers money. We do not know that.

I'm not saying anything in necessarily better, just different.

It seems as if anything positive about Xbone in his thread is greeted with hostility.

                              Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

We are at Year 3 of this technology. MS has been selling games online for 3 years. To assume that they are going to change the prices in year 4, 5, or 10 is naive. Is it possible? Sure. Is it likely? Not based on past behavior.

Year -1, Apple was saving consumers money with Itunes vs. CD retailers.

I don't think that's confirmed, but I'd assume Xbox Live is required for pretty much everything on the Xbox One, but $30-35 per year for Xbox Live's features doesn't seem bad to me.
