I am getting a PS4 at launch (but am planning on getting a One eventually) and I hope like heck these rumors are untrue. I want both of these consoles to succeed. Competition is a good thing.

Re: Xbox One
the rumor was started by cboat who has been highly inaccurate over the last couple of months. And if I remember the rumor was started based off of they showed the ps4 running but not the x1 so therefore it is 720... The was no evidence to back it up.
and GAF has a terrible rep on the forums since they have a large Sony bias right now. There is still some great information there from devs and the like but the forums have degraded to gamefaqs levels lol.
but I doubt this rumor since it has no legs to stand on.
The truth is probably that the Xbox One is not ready for launch. The developer tools/SDK are unfinished, certain specifications seem to be shifting constantly, and developers have had very little time to create the next-gen versions of their games that are now launching on up to six platforms simultaneously. Launch titles are going to suffer, and with Xbox One being more complicated to program for, they're going to suffer extra hard. Even if this year's CoD looks significantly worse on Xbox, I doubt next year's will.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Edit: And it was just confirmed that both version are 1080p/60fps. So there's that.
As was mentioned previously, cboat did not start the rumor, he mainly responded to call out Penello for his bull****. This rumor probably has more legs than most because at least four or five confirmed insiders/developers have chimed in on the situation, rather than just the usual single source.

It must be getting closer to Halloween. It amazes me how much these 2 Giants have switched places. Like 2 universes colliding since the beginning of this year.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Another hint that either this COD: Ghost rumor is either BS or IW just don't know what they're doing...
But the powa of the XB-1....

PSA: NBA 2K14 runs at 1080p/60fps on both PS4 and Xbox One. This is confirmed, straight from the horse's mouth.

Re: Xbox One
To my knowledge Call of Duty and NBA 2k are two different games made from two different developers. That doesn't disprove anything.Comment

Re: Xbox One
The problem is if it's true then we have NBA 2k at 1080, Ryse at 900, and Call of Duty at 720. That is very inconsistent. Next-gen consoles should have been built to be able to support 1080p and 60 fps for all games. Instead, we are getting inconsistencies with the hardware.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Did IW have a separate team create the next-gen versions? I remember reading that 2K specifically had a team there for the next-gen experience. Maybe they just paid a bit more attention to it since they had that specific focus? I'm not even sure of what differences there are in gameplay for current and next-gen CoD at this point if there are any. 2K at least created a new engine for the game which probably helped them.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: Xbox One
A developer is not going to choose to program the game in a lower resolution unless there is a reason for doing it. IW has poor coders. If COD is in 720 on one system and 1080 on another what does that tell you. Exactly what I said, that its not a hardware capability issue but an issue of developers being unable to utilize the hardware. Hence why you are going to see some games in proper next gen resolution and some games cutting it short to maintain FPS.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Like this generation when PGR3 was 1024x600 and PDZ was 1152x640 at launch of the 360 (which broke Microsoft's very own TCR). Some of the biggest games this generation (including the biggest franchise in Call of Duty) are rendering natively below HD. I'm not sure how anybody can expect consistency across the board coming off this generation, let alone expecting 1080p/60fps to be the standard.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment
