I'm not sure how anybody can expect consistency across the board coming off this generation, let alone expecting 1080p/60fps to be the standard.
I've also read articles saying that 60fps is important, but not always required. Not picking one side or another, but more the point that the fps choice gives you options/limitations. 30fps lets you optimize everything else more, if that makes sense....

This is why I'm waiting for release though, all these rumors aren't trustworthy, we'll see when games are released and everyone can play.

All of this talk about the Xbox One having trouble running 1080p/60fps is really starting to worry me. Hopefully the truth comes out before November 15th..wishful thinking I know.

Might as well toss 3D on the pile of demands, Glass/VR/Oculus Rift support too.

Has this info about the 720p for the games been confirmed yet or is all this just still a rumor? I've been hearing about this all day. Frankly I'm not worried. Whether 720p or 1080p. I'm still getting Xbox one no matter what.

Did they claim to be future proof? Because I know Microsoft claimed Xbox One is supposed to be. If you can't run all games at 1080p 60fps then it's definitely not future proof.

It's nice to want things. You should just go ahead and build a PC if you demand 1080P/60fps, because neither of these new machines will be future proof going by your logic.

This is such a ridiculous statement. Lmao.

This is 1080p we are talking about here. Let's not act like it's the bleeding edge of technology. Should be the standard, IMO.

I have built two PC's already that can do that. I don't need a third. Again I didn't claim anything to be future proof. Microsoft claimed Xbox One is future proof.

I think the idea behind that statement is that by the time this hardware cycle is ending, games will be running on a server farm somewhere and not locally.

Then don't make a statement you can't back up is all I can say. If they can't get all the launch titles to run at 1080p then how are they going to get games in the future to do that? The games will be more advanced not less advanced. Therefore, we could see a lot more 720p games instead. That is the issue.

So since a couple of launch titles are running sub 1080p this will be the norm moving forward on the XB-1 meaning the hardware isn't "future proof"

I have had discussion with a lead dev, and from his words, the PS4 is the way I will be going on ALL multi-platform titles. If it were a run of the mill report, whatever, but not in this case.
