Re: Xbox One
These rumors are just that. MS has fully playable XB-1 being played on tours and not many people are claiming hardware/OS crashes
As for different resolutions at launch personally I'm not surprised as devs learn the hardware.

I do believe sometime next year all the kinks will be worked out once the developers spend more time with the system

Re: Xbox One
WTF, that's the thing though BF4 is being show basically @ all the XB-1 Tour events it's not just MS launch titles such as Ryse, Forza, or KI.
I wouldn't worry too much about how the Launch for MS is gonna turn-out. I know I'm not.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Gotta agree. Something isn't right about this launch. Grant it I expect some issues but they aren't telling something. I gotta little insight and it didn't shock me but I was still disappointed

Re: Xbox One
Im just wondering where all this negative info is being posted, sites Like IGN and engaget have yet to post anything about this OS not being stable, and please don't say the site Neogaf or whatever it is, because then I think its BS.N.Y Mets

Re: Xbox One
Why is GAF BS when most of these sites take what's posted in the GAF forums as news on their home pages? IGN does this a lot.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Maybe I'm a troll for pointing out that the 360 had an abysmal failure rate? SquareTrade (the warranty company, fwiw) had their estimate at about 25%. This GameInformer survey showed a 54.2% failure rate, with over 30% having a second failure.
Coming from someone who loved the 360, and have owned four new ones in total due to failures (none through warranty, that's too many hoops to jump through) and someone who loves the video game hobby in general - that's a disconcerting number.
I know I shouldn't have responded to you because I haven't seen you add anything to a conversation yet... but if you think I have a horse in this XBone/PS4 race you are kidding yourself.badComment

Re: Xbox One
I'm getting Xbox one, but I would be lying if I didn't admit that I'm a little bit skeptical about non first party games. I think the first party games are stable and will be better because they've had their ear to the ground and are closer to what the actually deal is. I think all non-first party folks are going to be hit or miss. The hardware MAY not have been ready but MS had to push it or else lose out big time. Like WTF, I have some programmer contacts in the industry, and they said something similar to what he has indicated although slightly nuanced. Their words were, performance wise, it's PS4. The thing that they said that kept me on the MS bandwagon first was that while PSN will be improved, MS online gaming will be the best experience (but that's only if you are an online gamer). If they had not said the latter, I'd most likely had gone PS4 first. All I do is play online. Once they told me that, I was left to look at the launch titles and think about the in house exclusives.
But as I have said elsewhere, I'll pick up PS4 when The Order 1886 comes out.Comment

Re: Xbox One
If you want to buy an Xbox One that's GREAT, (I'm getting both) but to dismiss every bad thing about XB1 out of hand for whatever reason you (not you singular, you plural) can find is illogical.
PS4 will be the more powerful gaming machine, end of story. If multiplat quality is a priority those people will be way better off with a PS4. Nothing wrong with letting our OS brothers know this simple fact. No cloud can overcome specs.
There are MANY excellent reasons to want an Xbox one as well, looking forward to mine, but I wish people can just try and read, do research, and have rational discussions about these PRODUCTS.Comment

Re: Xbox One
All we need to do is look at EA. When was the last time they were this close to game release and have not released any game play footage at all? The thing with them though is they have not released X1 or PS4 so I'm not sure what is going on there. 2k is definitely ready with its PS4 iteration of NBA2k. Not showing X1 version. I'm going to ask and see what's up with it.Comment

More possibly disconcerting news on the CoD:Ghosts Resolutiongate.

The guy that runs 3rd party relations for Xbox is one of my best friends. And we have to play this information game all the time. He has the utmost respect for the confidentiality of partner details. So I did call him and ask him, and he told me very directly “You don’t need to know”
End of conversation. End of speculation.
Nobody at MS will comment on this. Most people don’t know. This is Activision’s product, and it’s completely up to them on how/when they want to show this product, why they choose to roll-out their game in a certain way, and what platforms they choose to show on.
There is no point in lying about anything. If I did know, I would have just said “I can’t say”. You all would have gotten the same answer.
NB: "You don't need to know" is not inherently bad, which he directly states.badComment
