    Re: Xbox One

Because of budget and just the reality that my family doesn't need both systems, I went with the Xbox. The main reason is track record in how they roll out updates. They said from the start that this is a marathon.

Software is key with the Xbox One. They continue to build on the system and Smartglass. You get the sense that you are always moving forward.

Don't sleep on Powerstar Golf. It's a great game that has taken up much of my gaming time.

I am a PS4/Wii U owner and I am thinking of adding the xbox 1 to the fold. Between gift cards and trade ins, I have about $400 in credit on amazon...I need to burn it on something. I can use it for games on the PS4 coming out this year, or get myself an xbox one. I feel as if there are mostly games for both systems coming out that I am most interested in that I can get on PS4. The true gamer in me just wants one. Especially since I only played halo 1 and the new remastered 1 - 4 coming out in November intrigues me. The New Fable is also intriguing, but I have yet to see a date.

I just want it to be worth it. It's not everyday I have credit to burn. I will probably just agonize over the decision until I get it so maybe I will just take the leap. I played the Titan Fall Beta on PC and left unimpressed. I could also give that another shot.

To be perfectly honest, you should look at how many games you want for PS4 and/or Wii U. Calculate it to see how much it would cost you and when those games come out.

Whatever games you want to play on PS4 and/or Wii U can always be traded in once you finish them unless of course, you're a collector or the type who'll usually have a backlog.

Also, waiting until Black Friday could be a great move as there will most likely be deals on Xbox One especially if it's still in third place.

One thing is for sure, dont rush the decision as that usually backfires regardless of the matter. Either way, happy gaming.

Seriously don't listen to Daniel, he's openly admited he doesn't have a XB1 and is Playstation guy!!!

I respect that you said the gamer in you wants One....I own a PS4 and a Xbox One, and you can look at my YouTube channel BSHADOWS GAMING and see where I made videos of both - inside the console videos. As well as gameplay videos from both consoles...

By his biased remarks even saying the Xbox One is in 3rd place...is a joke and an insult. The Xbox One has sold more units in 5 months than the Wii U in 2 years...seriously...And people keep trying to compare sales of the PS4 vs. Xbox One Sales, which til this day can't be taken serious! When the PS4 is released in 29 other countries and their total is overall.

Xbox One will release in 28 more countries in Sept 15th and then we'll see true comparison numbers by X-Mas...

regardless of the fact, there are dozens of games on Xbox One worth having at the moment, and not delayed titles as the PS4 has...

I own Infamous Second Son, Killzone SF, MLB 14, and FIFA 14 on PS4.

I've already listed my Xbox One lineup on a previous post, they just hands down have more games and more exclusives at the moment and so far there aren't any bad ones.

From Crimson Dragon, Killer Instinct, Max Curse of Brotherhood, Forza 5, TitanFall full version, no that crappy beta.. LocoCycle, Kinect Sports, and even getting the Xbox One Fitness with Insanity and other 400 dollars fitness programs for free with a Gold Membership is a no brainer.

Halo Assault which is available now are also great titles. If you already have a gaming PC, majority of the so called PS4 exclusives are nothing more than older PC games ported. Not new IP's like on Xbox One.

So it's worth it to spend that money on it and get one, having all the consoles is better, so you won't miss out on the exclusives..

            Because there are a lot of XB1 games coming out in 2014 remaining months. And come Feb. 2015 I got a lot of PS4 exclusives to get including the Order 1886;

This is my honest and unbiased opinion, also get the system with Kinect you'll thank me later, not having that thing working is terrible and a experience you don't want to miss.

Also with the 300k dedicated servers, the online experience is amazing and with the latest updates, party chatting and more are still great...

              Re: Xbox One

The Xbox is definitely shaping up with all the added features each month. It's also depressing that Sony just keeps updating stability and not adding any meaningful features. For an online gamer it's a no brainer to have an Xbox. The online experience just feels better and more organized.

I don't know how big of a gamer you are. I have conceded my major gaming days are in the past. I do some hardcore gaming in 2-3 titles a year, rent a few titles that catch my interest and that's it. It's my opinion you don't need both systems at this time. However, if you are the type to play dozens a games in a year then you shouldn't take my advice. And there's no exclusives out for XB1 that I feel are worth a $400 overhead yet. But overall I'm currently happy with it, and the direction it's going with the updates.

And despite what people say in this forum, the kinect doesn't work as consistent as well as every one claims. Trust me I do party chat all the time and it's annoying hearing multiple people repeat commands at their Xbox like it's a disobedient dog. For $100 extra, I'd say only get it if you want to hook up your cable/satellite or plan on doing a lot of kinect gaming. Otherwise you can get by with controllers & smartglass on your phone.

August will bring some heavy social updates, allowing the ability to share and like items in the activity feed. I wonder if they will improve access to friends. It seems clunky accessing friends when in a game.

                        via Joystiq:

The free games for Xbox 360 and Xbox One in August via the Games with Gold program involve a lot of flying, biking and sneaking. From August 1 - 15 on Xbox 360, Gold members can grab Motocross Madness for free, and then from August 16 - 31, pick up Dishonored for free. Available for the entire month of August on Xbox One, Gold members can get Crimson Dragon and Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut.

Think I might already own both of those, Crimson Dragon I could not get into but wanted something different to play at the time I bought it.

Edit: Oh and MS gave this away at SDCC celebrating...

Thanks guys for the input...I am leaning towards getting the x1 with my amazon credit. My Wii U will probably be used for the games I have and VC until the next Zelda and Xenoblade come out. PS4 - I have the CE of Destiny Pre-ordered as well as Natural Doctrine. I think for games like Assassins Creed and Far Cry 3, I will wait for them to go on sail. These types of games always seem to go on a decent sale post launch...maybe a b2g1. I will get Dragon Age as well, but probably PC.

Maybe I am talking myself into the purchase but who cares. I will see if I can trade in some more items towards the cost, but much like my Knicks, I have few trade-able assets.

                          Game on!

Yeah, and I was an Xbox 360 guy over PS3. None of that means anything in regards to the guy's situation. If he uses the credit to buy an Xbox One when that credit would go to games instead, what would be the point in buying an Xbox One when he would no longer have the money to buy games to play on Xbox One or any of the three for that matter?

I'll have an Xbox One next year sometime. Could buy it now but no point when there's only ONE game I want to play for it. Third party games dont count because I can play them NOW on PS4. Regardless, if the guy had Xbox One and Wii U, I would be saying the same thing. Wait. No point in rushing out to buy the console and then having no money to play any games on the console you just bought.

That's not a joke or an insult. It's a fact, just like when 360 launched a year earlier and was killing PS3. Xbox 360 had almost a 10 million head start on PS3 in sales and that was worldwide. Same damn thing. It's not my fault PS3 launched a year later than 360 just like it's not my fault that Microsoft is waiting until September 15th to launch in 28 more countries.

Delayed games? With the exception of The Order: 1886, what exclusives have been delayed to 2015? Seriously, one game being delayed isnt a big deal whatsoever especially when that one game will most likely be better than every Xbox One exclusive launched by that time.

Xbox One has better exclusives? And no bad ones? Are you kidding me? In general, WII U blows away BOTH PS4 and Xbox One, period but keeping thing as Xbox One vs PS4, the console that has better exclusives is all about PERSONAL PREFERENCE. You're listing exclusives that the guy may not even care about. Hell, he may not even care about any of the exclusives on either console.

Lococycle? LOL. Seriously? Kinect crap??? Are you kidding me??? Come on man. Crimson Dragon is garbage and guess what, Panzer Dragoon did it almost twenty years ago and better. Killer Instinct? Please. The Nintendo 64 versions are still better and having to buy characters as DLC is a huge rip off. Max is average at best. Titanfall is nothing special and is like what most FPS end up being - generic. Forza 5 is the ONLY game on your list that warrants a purchase and sadly, you left off the only exclusive that I care about - Ryse. See how yet again, it comes down to personal preference?

No, it may NOT be worth it for him to buy Xbox One now especially if that $400 was/is going towards games for PS4 and Wii U. What would be the point in buying ANY console but then, not having any money to buy any games for it? How does that make any sense? As for playing exclusives, they will still be there in six months and in a year and whenever he wants to play them. Not like they're going to disappear.

Yeah, Xbox One has a quality lineup for the end of the year but again, it's all about personal preference. You're assuming this guy likes and wants to play every Xbox One exclusive. I dont care what console you own, NO ONE plays every exclusive because quite simply, not every exclusive, genre, type of game is going to appeal to any one individual.

No, it's NOT your honest and unbiased opinion. You bash me for favoring PS4 but you're WORSE. Anyone who doesnt own a PS4 and has only $400 for the rest of the year to spend towards games shouldnt buy ANY console, PS4, Xbox One, Wii U or otherwise because in the end, what's the point in buying a console if you have no extra money to buy any games for the console you JUST purchased? Seriously, how does that make any sense to anyone?

As for Kinect, you're telling him to buy it when he said he only has $400 in Amazon credit. How exactly is he going to accomplish that? And again, he'll have no money for any games so the console will just sit there collecting dust.

In general, stay away from Kinect. It's a crappy useless add on gimmick and yes, I consider all add ons to be just that. Forcing Kinect, $500 at launch and many other reasons is why Sony is kicking Microsoft's ***!!! Thankfully, the corporate suits found their brains and put Phil Spencer in charge who quite simply, is their last hope for turning around the Xbox One. He's doing good thus far and has RARE working on actual games instead of Kinect sports garbage. And I dont care how good those Kinect sports games are. You dont go from DKC, Conker, Banjo, etc. to crappy Kinect sports games period. Hopefully, Spencer gets Rare back to what they used to be.

In the end, we actually agree on something, if you're an online gamer, just like Xbox 360, Xbox One is far superior to PlayStation.

And one last thing, I have never bashed Xbox One. Not everyone is a generic FPS fanboy, which is what the Xbox consoles have been geared towards since the original. Quite simply, in regards to exclusives, Wii U blows away both PS4 and Xbox One COMBINED and trust me, im no Nintendo fanboy. In general, if it wasnt for THIRD PARTY SUPPORT, both PS4 and Xbox One would have been dead on arrival because there's NOT ONE EXCLUSIVE thus far that makes EITHER CONSOLE a MUST BUY. And yeah, im including The Last Of Us Remastered into that statement. Neither console will have any exclusives that arent remasters, collections, etc. until 2015 that are worth buying either console for.

                            And to NY4LIFE.....

It's your credit/money and you can obviously do whatever you want but I say this from experience, dont ever buy a CONSOLE if you dont have the money to buy any games with it or if there's simply no games you want for it at the time you buy the console. After all, it's not like the consoles are going to disappear into thin air.

I am never a one system guy either but the situation of whether to buy a second system or games for my current system was an option I recently debated. I couldn't have summed up the debate any better.

I will eventually pick up the Xbox One, but right now I'm working on my first college degree and I have a full time job. I barely have time to play my PS4, so sometimes impulses to buy another system need to be thought about in a correct manner.

Exactly. I will eventually buy an Xbox One but will do so when the time is right FOR ME to do so. The other guy is just trying to get another gamer to buy Xbox One. That gamer should buy an Xbox One because he has the money to do so and because there's games that he wants to play now.

The debate of which console is better or which console has better exclusives is always missing one main focal point...and that's the fact that it's all based on each individual's personal preferences, what exclusive franchises that individual enjoys and what features, etc. the console offers that, that gamer wants in a console.

For me, it was PlayStation 4 for many different reasons. For someone else, it may be the opposite or may be Wii U. In the end, it's all about each individual's personal preference.
