The hardware guys designed the Xbox One to be able to be "always on" (fully on plus the connected standby state known as "instant on") for 10 years.

How do you put the box in Standby state? Does it go into it after some time?

In the settings for power you pick whether or not you want "instant on" as an option....it goes to that mode when you turn the xbox off

My $35 credit doesn't expire til 12/31 but I have to use it for products sold by Amazon, going to see if I can snag a Kinect 2.0. If anyone know of any good deals on the Kinect let me know, they seem to be going for around $80 on ebay and Amazon.

Just wanted to highly recommend this. I was doing it for my controller and thought it was WAY better value than my 360's play and charge kit, the batteries last forever and it was the best value-add I've purchased for any console imo. I work in TV and camera men use these things they are so reliable and long-lasting.

Eneloops are the best. My collection started small with a 4-pack and multiplied like bunnies during the Rock Band heydays.
