    Re: Xbox One

I have a bit of a dilemma here and would appreciate some help: I'm looking to buy a next gen console in the next couple of days and I can't decide which one to get. Most of my time will be spent playing NBA 2K15 and probably FIFA. It would be great if someone could help me decide, thanks.

You can get a Xbox One Madden 15 Bundle for $400 and it will come with another free game of your choice.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

this seems like the obvious answer to me. If you are interested in the voice commands and the other cool stuff kinect can do with tv they can be found on ebay and will be sold in retail stores in the coming months.

However the games you listed are identical on both consoles, so if this bundle and money savings aren't an issue for you or you have no interest in the tv/kinect stuff, simple answer is get a hold of both controllers and choose the system that has the controller that you find most comfortable.

Edit - after looking back you asked for help deciding, so here is my personal opinion:
I've had all playstations and all xbox systems for what it's worth.

I got both ps4 and xb1 at launch. Due to Amazon giving me a b1g1 and b2g1 the week of the ps4 release, I got all my launch games for it. I hated the dual shock 3, dual shock 4 was MUCH better. I was happy with the system. I stopped playing ps2 for xbox, got a ps3 after the 360 but never converted over. However I was content with moving to playstation full time. I never opened my xb1 until march when my dad wanted to play DR3 coop.

I felt like a fool. Keep in mind these are my opinions...PS4 was a basic upgrade to ps3. The dashboard/home screen is rather plain. A few options and settings, and a row of games/apps. Nothing special. Better hardware and better graphics, that was about it. Once i started playing the xb1, it felt like a "new" machine. it played the same games as the ps4 (maybe without the same graphics in some games, but honestly i cant tell any difference unless i see a comparison video with them side by side. Even then i find it negligible and couldn't care less, it is still a huge upgrade from last gen either way.) BUt the system does so much more. THe home/dash looks like something next gen, it feels alive. Turn on tv/dtv receiver/xbox with a single command. Running tv through it, when going home having it still play in the tile while browsing around. snap tv while playing games. voice commands to quickly switch between games/apps. the monthly OS updates increasing the functionality. The controller is amazing, i always felt the left stick being down low on playstation was slightly uncomfortable, on the xbox it is in more of a natural/comfortable position. ALso the rumble in the triggers is a great touch especially for shooters or racing games. Maybe PS4 has the better hardware (aside from the controller in my opinion) but the software adds functionality, and on the XB1 it is so much better making having slightly better graphics in a handful of games an afterthought.

Calibrate it with everything in your room at max volume, not quiet like it tells you...makes a huge difference.

It was there before with XBox Music & Video. Difference now is the media player can find devices on your network, where as before you had to use another device on your network to send the media to your xbox

Happens pretty much every time I boot up a game. Press a to play goes, to splash screen, then back out to dash. Press a to play game again, goes to splash screen, and the game loads.

                Pretty odd.

So I just bought a 2nd Xbox one for the family (got a deal I couldn't pass up). Currently we have two gamer tags, one for me and one for the kids. The new Xbox is going in the kids room but I want to make sure I set everything up right so we can still share digital games and EA Acess. Is there any Best way to do this?

Thanks for your reply, I've been a playstation guy all my life, only had a second hand Xbox for a couple of months, but I've had every playstation up until next gen. Probably going to go for the One, considering my friends who have next gen are on that, and I can just keep my PS3 for my playstation needs. Thanks a lot man, helped me make an informed decision.

I just received it as part of the preview program earlier this week, it will be in the October update.

Btw the new snap controls make it so much better too. Very slick
