I'm not talking about Games with Gold. I'm talking about Deals with Gold (discounts). Sony's are much, much better. The free game selection doesn't bother me at all.

Just a small list of games they gave away for the PS3 in the past ~3 years.

Nobody is going to give away an AAA game within a year of release when there aren't a ton of PS4s/XBOnes in the wild yet, comparatively.

Deals with gold doesn't really concern me. I feel like if the game is good I already own it by the time it goes on sale. Either that or the game on sale is awful.

I kind of disagree. A game isn't always bad or good. It could be a good game, but it's not something that I typically would spend $60 on (single player only game; genre out of the norm for me). Or maybe the game is good, but my list is just too long already. The game could be average, but for $20-30, maybe it's worth a play? It's rarely black and white.

If the XB1 is set to automatically download updates for games and such, what time does it typically update on its own? I was fully expecting to come home today and have the 3GB update for Madden already installed, instead I'm hit with the prompt to update, and am stuck waiting for it now.

Also, it would be nice if I could take out the disc, put something else in to play while it downloads the update because my connection is rather slow.

Same thing happened to me. I'm thinking it checks for updates overnight.

So, after bidding on a few kinects on ebay the last week or so, and getting out bid and seeing them sell for like 80 bucks, with shipping on top, I called my local EB Games here in town, they had one that I got for $70 bucks. Thought that was a good deal, so I bought it today.

Simple to set up, just plugged it in, ran through the voice tutorial just so I knew what I was doing, had no problems with it hearing me.

Downloaded the Xbox fitness stuff. Will check it out tomorrow probably. Also downloading the demo for the kinect sports thing to check it out to see if I want to buy it.

Is there like, a manual somewhere or something to help learn some of the commands?

There are tutorials on the system itself. Plus if you just say "xbox" it'll show you your options re: voice controls.

When in doubt, say Xbox Select and all your options for the current UI will appear.

In Canada, yes.

Otherwise I think all the eb in the US have transitioned to gamestop a few years back.
