Re: Xbox One
When is CES?
I am really considering getting that Samsung TV you where talking about. There are 2 problems for me though. The first one is it doesn't have inputs besides HDMI and I still like to go back and play old games and systems like gamecube, SNES etc. I did fix that though because I just bought a few converter things where you can play old systems with HDMI. The second problem is I am still living with my parents and I want the 49 or 55 inch one for around a 1000 and considering the 49 inch one is about 1100 right now and black Friday is coming up you may be able to get it for around 900 or so around black Friday. But being that I am still at home with the size of my room I don't know if having much bigger then my current 37 inch TV would be a good idea. For a 49 inch TV I have heard you should sit around 7 and a half feet or so and with the size of my room I am only about 6 feet right now but considering that the TV is a lot smaller in the back then my current TV I could get that a little bit farther from where I sit then my current TV is.Comment

I know people complain about the constant updates but it is amazing how much they have added over time.

Agreed and honestly I don't know why people complain about the updates, half the time my console updates and I don't even know it because it was off or it was so quick.Fino Alla Fine

Re: Xbox One
CES is in January. Don't know the exact date since I haven't looked it up. As for the TV, you should wait until Black Friday as it seems to be a better fit in your situation. For me, I already have a co-worker who'll most likely buy the TV off of me if I get a different one next year.
Yeah I figure should want in till black Friday any way with it being only like a month away any way. Oh ok yeah I thought CES was early part of the year.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I completely agree. I can't say I particularly love the Xbox One UI but I don't see how anyone can argue against the support and improvements MS has given to the console since it's launch. They've literally righted (and then improved) almost every wrong.Comment

Re: Xbox One
So I took delivery of the KS8000 on Friday and plugged it in on Saturday and watched college football and played some games and could not handle the horrible motion blur of this tv. Coming from the JS9500 from last year this was a huge eye sore for me.
I went to RTINGS to see the review of the KS8000 and compared it to the 8500 which is the curved version. Their claim is that they are same except for curved vs flat. But in the actual review they gave the 8500 is better score for motion blur and contrast as well as input lag when outputting 4K with the xb1 s
I asked the reviewer via email and he said there was a diff but he felt not a big deal and I said it is for people who hate motion blur in gaming and sports. He said he understood but is a better value and he hates curve screens. OyyyKKK
Anyway I went back to PC Richards yesterday and told the guy that I could not stand the blur issue and that I want the 8500 so he charged me $100 extra which is worth it for the 8500 and today they will come and swap it out
Disclaimer: If the price diff was more then $300 I would have kept the 8000 and dealt with it but for $100 it was a no brainer. Better contrast, brightness, and motion blur overshoot....FTW
Lets hope is the case when I plug it in.

Right now i have a samsung j200 something which was rated as a 9.7 in motionblur and then has both motion interpolation on 60 and 30fps.
Its amazing how much this tv for me handles the motion almost as perfect as my old plasma.
4k scares me now. If its not the price its also the fact that tvs with good motion have to be either curved like in your situ or much higher in price
i can go curved though bothers my eyes but im happy you were able to swap out and THANK YOU so much for the heads up and writing it for us so that we could AVOID this tv.
Rtings though a fantastic site srsly would have had me being upset as you and completely not knowing to do with a huge set like that retirning it

Re: Xbox One
I bought a Vizio 4K D Series and took it back after a week. Picture was OK straight on but the viewing angles from the side were the worst I've ever seen. It gets downgraded on rtings.com in this area but I never thought they would be this bad. This TV should never be purchased by anyone with a wide room. It gets white washed. My 10 year old LCD looked better. Spent more money on the Sony x850d and MUCH better. Love it.Comment

I'm kinda pissed about this because I have the ks8000 and for most games I don't notice the motion blur that much but on while playing nba2k 17 it's very noticeable. Sucks, because I'm not a fan of curve tvs but I'd get it if I could. Sadly, im passed my exchange period with Best Buy. I'd exchange it for the 8500, but I hate curve tvs. I'll stick with this tv for now because honestly it looks great to me. My next move is OLED and I'll wait for those to come down to reasonable prices.
