No actually....HE was playing semantics.

I STILL have one PS3 that I have never connected to the internet for the sole purpose of not having to upgrade titles.
Sometimes....patches are NOT helpful(fully)

Do not see the point in owning either console if you can not connect it to the Internet. Every console I own is always hooked up to the Internet. Day one patch is inevitable for every game.

Pixel thing is so stupid. I don't even bother with it anymore.

Top part: Well, maybe Day One patches wouldn't be inevitable if people didn't support releasing broken games (across ALL consoles.)

Bottom Part: Just wrong. Unless you think http://i3.minus.com/iIcfQ5fpQ6mPb.png isn't a step up from playing it on the Wii. In which case, rock on. I totally get saying the difference between the two consoles we have now is negligible (which, it's entirely personal if it is/isn't) but don't say resolution doesn't matter.

I may have accidentally started the discussion, my bad. My point is more that when PSN or XBL are down (like on holidays) people always complain how their systems are pretty useless for them at that point.

I get how PS4 is more lenient, my point is more how most games nowadays are pretty internet heavy now, either with online gaming or other features.

We don't have to get back into that debate again....I just know that if I had either system I'd be annoyed if I didn't have online for a month lol

Same here. Also with more and more people going digital there is no reason to not be connected to the internet.

I'm not saying you 'have' to connect to the internet, but the majority of gamers don't have multiple versions of the same console. Most, if not every game comes with a Day 1 patch at this point used to fix things devs didn't have time to fix in the dev cycle.

Not having an internet connection, while not necessary, is robbing the console of ALMOST necessary updates.

Not to mention the various console updates, which to me keep the console "fresh" and "new". 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4...would I sill be happy with any of those as they were at launch with no features added? Definitely not, especially knowing updates were out there.
