I'm having a blast with TGC, so, different strokes for different folks.(no pun intended)

I love how unforgiving the game is.

Was playing Destiny online last night with no problems , joined a party, and suddenly they couldn't hear me. Went into a fireteam after this and still nothing. I could still hear them, and if I do the volume buttons I still get the feedback. Turned my xbox all the way off, unplugged the headset, etc. Little frustrating.

anyone know if it makes a difference setting your xbox one on 24hz(?) , 50hz, etc. n the settings menu?
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Depends on the context and what you are trying to do. These settings are way too complicated, but I spent 2 weeks talking to people trying to simplify them, and I get why we have the different settings and why some settings are in 2 places.

So, let me know your scenario. Generally you don't want to change those settings.

Just curious studbucket what changing that setting does. Only thing I'm doing is playing games or watching netflix, dvds, etc. Currently I don't have any box checked..

It allows apps to change the refresh rate (or possibly changes it, depending on app) if the content supports/requests it. Unless you have a TV that supports 50Hz and the content you are playing is in 50Hz (aka you live in Europe), don't do it. 24Hz, 3D, etc is for the same thing. Don't enable it unless you are specifically trying to play that content and have a TV that supports it.

Worst case, you get a black screen and we revert your settings, best case you notice nothing, but you'll likely notice stuttering and jittering in your video.

It's one of those "if you need this setting, then you'll know what it is" things. Since you don't know, it usually means don't touch it

                        Xbox One

Posted this on the game deal thread but figure I would share on here to

With the Target Cartwheel app they have coupon code where you can get "The Evil Within" for $15 until 5/2/15

Never played it but I'm sure it's worth $15

Edit: Take note you have to download the app then let them scan the barcode when you are checking out in the store

May Preview Update brings power on/off capabilities to the SmartGlass app...very handy when you don't want use a controller at all, like when using the Xbox to watch something from an app (ESPN, MLB, etc).

Some decent updates, have to think video game streaming is going to be an added bonus to this month or next, if not a heralded big feature for June/July going into Windows 10 launch.

Very much looking forward to trying that.

I don't get the point of the power control with smart glass. Is it a thing non kinect users have been asking for?

I wouldn't mind it for times i don't want to yell at Kinect, or if I'm sitting at the kitchen table where Kinect has trouble recognizing the On command.

Also, we fall asleep to the tv at night a lot, so being able to turn it off from bed without a controller would work...haven't gotten the remote for the bedroom yet.
