Nice. Not sure about other stores but Best Buy has it on sale for $40 plus tax this week through Saturday. If you're a Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked member, you can get it for $32 plus tax.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is my second best game of 2015 and is definitely worth buying and playing in my opinion.

Awesome man. Thanks for the heads up. I do have GCU so I will definitely pick it up while it's on sale!

I don't have an external HDD connected at all but still have disconnect issues from time to time.

On another note, I just upgraded from a 500GB console to the elite. I wasn't planning to but a mate did a great deal for me where it hardly cost me anything to upgrade, I got to keep my original controller and HDMI cable and got Fallout 4 with it. No brainer especially given the controller is very nice.

I'm unsure about one thing though. Planning to get an external hard drive and connect that but how does the elite SSHD work with external drives, if at all. I might have read it wrong but something about how it may help with frequently used files (small SSD) and if they're on the external, will that nullify it?

Going to get a 4TB external but for those with an elite, or even just a normal 1TB, where are you putting your files? All on the external or filling up the 1TB also?

No controller disconnects over 2 gaming sessions since I moved my external drive further away.

            Thanks studbucket!

Sit down since I have an hour before I need to get some sleep and want to get a gaming session in. Get hit with the notice that I need to update. I know people are going to say just change the settings but I really don't want my console running at all times.

It's the only way to avoid that happening. Well besides starting up the console early to make sure there is not an update. Same situation as last gen. There was just no avoiding it then.

                    Re: Xbox One

OK. So I just got my hands on one of the Elite Xbox One controllers....I have been debating if I wanted one and when I walked into Best Buy and they had one on display....I just had to snag it.

Now......I can say that it is an awesome controller and I do like it but....I am having some buyers remorse. I literally only play sports games and the 1-2 non sports games I have are on the PS4. So no FPS for me here. The controller is nice but I'm not sure it is worth the extra cash at this point. I already own 2 Lunar White controllers and they seem "good" enough for sports games.

Cash is really tight for me and even more with a family and Christmas time so I guess I am really looking for this controller to "blow me away" or make a "night and day" difference in Madden or NBA2k16....but initially it just seems like a much better built controller.

So......since this is a sports gaming site.....I am wondering how many of you that have this are using it with your sports titles? Hoping to get some insight as to why this is a must have for sports games. Because honestly so far everyone I have talked to in stores and reading reviews really make this sound like it is primarily for FPS titles.

Thanks in advance. Just trying to decide if this if for me or not.

IMO if cash is tight just take it back. You can always pick one up later, especially since you really only play sports game.

The controller is superior to the standard in not only build quality but the functions it offers. The sticks can be made into different combos that make movement sharper and you can use the app to set the sensitivity levels of triggers and movements with the stick. I use it in Madden for stiff arming with the back paddle and in 2K for quick 2k play call.

                        But

Since you are tight on money you should return it and get it later maybe when is cheaper. I cant use any other controller besides the Elite on the xbox one....

Thanks. I remember when you got yours and it was obviously a match made in heaven for what you were looking for. In my case, I am not so sure. I do like the build quality and the analog sticks feel really good. I am just not sure that I am the "right" person for having a customizable controller. I suffer from a disorder I like to call "option anxiety" where if I am given too much control or too many options I get lost and spend all of my time "tweaking and testing" settings. I get like this with sliders in sports games, when I PC game I am always tweaking graphical settings and resolution to get the most out of a game. This entails a lot of benchmarks and testing. The problem is I spend more time doing this than actually having fun playing!

So for my own mental health I am considering returning it, since it doesn't completely alter my gaming experience.....at least at this point!

Thanks. Still wouldn't mind hearing of some configurations for sports games that are useful though!

I'd love to have one but figured out I really just want the SquidGrips they have out there for like 15 bucks....

I have the alternate White controller for one Xbox, and really like the textured feel on the back. I figure these grips get me that cheap upstairs....
