I have no external hard drive. It happens when I'm using headsets especially my astros. Never have this issue on the ps4..

Interesting, does the headset have some wireless mode on it that is turned on? Bluetooth, WiFi, RF?

I also did a quick search for "xbox one astro headset controller disconnect" and clicked some of the top links. Not sure if either of these helps.

Have had a PS4 since launch...NEVER owned an Xbox (any generation)...

...Santa (my girlfriend) bought me the 500GB XBOX ONE w/ Gears of War combo...

Xbox Live Gold. Buy it, even if you don't play online. If you're budget conscious then snag it for as low as $30 pretty frequently. It was just $26 a couple of weeks ago.

Every month if you subscribe to Xbox Live you get 4 games: 2 Xbox One and 2 Xbox 360. You need to go to Xbox.com to 'buy' the Xbox 360 games and then they'll be available in the 'ready to install' (far right) area of the My Games and Apps app. For the forseeable future all Xbox 360 games offered in this way are 'backward compatible' and playable on the Xbox One, the list of currently supported titles is here.

Also, get EA Access. That currently gets you these titles as long as you remain a subscriber:

Battlefield Hardline
Titanfall
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Battlefield 4
Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare
NBA Live 15
Madden NFL 15
NHL 15
FIFA 15, 14
Peggle 2
UFC
Need for Speed Rivals
Madden 25

10 hour trials of:

Star Wars Battlefront
FIFA / NHL / Madden 16
Need for Speed
... and most/all future EA titles (ie PvZ2, Unravel, UFC2)

Trials are available a week or more before the release date and are available indefinitely thus far.

No-brainer at $29.99/year, but if you have doubts there's also a $4.99/mo option.

I'd also check the Early Access section of the store, just a few games there but ARK is getting a lot of love.

Buy and play Rise of the Tomb Raider as it's easily one of the best games this year. Everyone who owns an Xbox One should buy and play this game.

Any of you guys have issues with these systems being busted like the 360s were or any issues like having to have them fixed frequently

I have had mine since release and I noticed a month ago that the disk drive is not working properly. The only disks that work for me 100% of the time are DVDs. I have to use a weird method to load games and blu ray disks, where I have to hold onto the disk for a moment while the drive tries to pull it in, then let go. It's odd but it works and I don't have to send my Xbox in for repair.

Buy and play Rise of the Tomb Raider as it's easily one of the best games this year. Everyone who owns an Xbox One should buy and play this game.

*State of Decay - Year One Edition (have always wanted to play this as it's the closest we're gonna get to H1Z1 or Day-Z on the consoles (open-world)

*Forza Horizon 2

*Goal was to only pick-up XBOX exclusives as I have a PS4 (will have to pick up Tomb Raider later) - I have too many games to play (haven't even opened The Witcher yet)

Anything else I need for my first XBOX experience??

Picked up a plug and play kit for my BF Xbox One and w/o trying to start a console war. I am impressed with the length of the cord that Microsoft provides. What is that cord 8 feet?

Forza Horizon 2 is my favorite racing game. Hope you enjoy it. So much fun.

There are a couple platformers on the Xbox One that are a lot of fun and are quite cheap.

• Ori and the Blind Forest is not only fun, but very pretty and has the best soundtrack of any game I've played
• Max and the Curse of the Brotherhood is a fun game
• These aren't platform specific, but worth playing:
  • Valiant Hearts: The Great War
  • Child of Light (was very impressed by this game)

If you like to watch movies, TV, or videos a lot on your Xbox, the Media Remote is a nice thing to pick up. It can also control your TV's volume if you have a Kinect or IR extension cable.

I really am new to this whole XBOX gaming, so I am nervous when to switch back & forth between my PS4/X1 - I gravitate more toward my PS4 but I hope the X1 has some games coming out that will persuade me to purchase games on their end.
I wanted the best of both worlds, I now have it but am not 100% sure how to utilize both consoles to my advantage yet - time will tell.

Right now I'm excited to start State of Decay as I am into anything open-world related & since it's an exclusive I have been waiting to play this game for over a year now.
