Xbox One
I was under the impression the 4K thing was all about streaming. Devs just need to get better at optimizing for each system gaming wise. Would think they would be doing a better job by now.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I don't expect a 4k gaming update. Just a system with a better CPU and/or GPU to compete with Sony.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Hey guys, do any of you know if there's going to be a system update between now and Tuesday?
I have my Xbox One in the box but will be taking it out and connecting it on Monday in preparation for Quantum Break on Tuesday and since it's been three months, im definitely expecting to be required to update the console but come Tuesday, I don't want to sit through a second possible system update.
Prefer to just do it all at once and then play Quantum Break on Tuesday. Thanks guys.Comment

Re: Xbox One
The new xb1.5 is not going to do 4K gaming. It wills stream 4K and it will beef up the GPU to be able to get full 1080p 60fps without compromises
It might be strong enough to reach 1440p at 30fps perhaps just like a ps4k
Sony is doing it mostly for VR to not flop and be relevant vs the other 2 which are more powerful
MS is doing it because they realize they screwed up and perception is becoming a cold reality for them that they are constantly being mentioned only when their version is less densed then competing platforms or multi plats.
Dark Souls 3 at 900p and drops in frames more then ps4? That should not be acceptable at allComment

Re: Xbox One
Phil talked about this already. The current xb1 will not have a plug in external gpu so we can scrap that idea.

Anyways, if ANYONE upgrades to do 4K then it absolutely needs to be Microsoft IMHO as the One is the system that has video pass through and to use it then it with 4K, will, as far as I know require, the ability to do 4K.
I am not planning on buying a 4K tv anytime soon but when I do I'd like to know I can still connect up my Xbox One as a pass-thru.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Xbox One
Neither upgraded console will be native 4K so when you think about it, what's even the point in pissing off your current install base?
Both Sony and Microsoft should just work on their next consoles and release them in late 2018 instead of going the upgraded .5 way.
As for games not running as good on Xbox One compared to PS4, it's all about how the developers optimize the game. PC game Hard Reset Redux is going to be 1080P and 60FPS on BOTH consoles. Granted, that's a FPS but still, if a small studio like Flying Hog Wild or whatever their name is can do it, why can't the bigger developers and publishers?
Personally, I see it all as nothing more than egomaniac rich mother******* trying to screw over those who got them there in the first damn place. But whatever.Comment

Because I assure you that if MS and Sony say the console will cost $1000 many here will loose their wigs.
Both consoles will stream in 4K but chances are Sony will have the 4K blu ray first over MSComment

Re: Xbox One
To be honest I'm quite sick of hearing about all the 4k fake crap. Nothing will be native and both companies can keep there up scalping 4k. If it ain't native it means nothing and to be quite frank, I'm happy with what both consoles put out right now as far as graphics, I'm happy.
So they can keep all this crap, cause I'm not budging on any of this at all. I already put a lot of money into these consoles we have in our homes right now and then they want more. Let us enjoy what we have right now. Shoot.
