Re: Xbox One
UMMM , YEAH NO
Probably won't happen but im hoping that Microsoft delays Scorpio until Fall 2018 and here's why, the new AMD CPU isn't being released until 2018 and I would much rather see a new CPU along with the new GPU in one new console which they should market as their fourth overall console and go from there.
Scorpio is the same as the PS4 Pro to me. A more powerful version of the base console but will be held back because of it. Seriously, when you see Crackdown 3 and what it will be like on Scorpio with 6TF of power compared to the 1.8TF of power on the base Xbox One, I just have a feeling that the game will be held back from what it should be on Scorpio because of parity and not wanting to split the user base.
Would love it if Scorpio is their next gen console and just allow full backwards compatibility so all Xbox One games will play and run on Scorpio but all future Scorpio games won't be able to run on the current Xbox One.
As someone who's in the middle regarding PS4 Pro, I just think the entire mid-gen console upgrades will do more harm than good overall. Seriously, what's the point in having the extra power and capabilities if it's not properly utilized and taken full advantage of?
On a related side note - I sold my Xbox One Slim back in November since there weren't going to be any more games for me that im interested in playing and the one game I was interested in was State of Decay 2 but that appears to be an online only co-op game and while that's not official or confirmed, it sounds like that's what it's going to be. Because of that and wanting a black Slim model, I sold it to a co-worker for $200.
However, after watching the trailer for Forza Horizon 3's Blizzard Mountain expansion (first of two by the way), I got hyped up and want to play it and Forza in general again. Because of this, I purchased the Xbox One Slim Battlefield 1 bundle for $300 with a $50 Best Buy GC and an extra sealed controller. Once I sell the game and controller, I'll basically be paying $200 to get it back for the fourth time.
(Related side note - I have realized that im as bad or worse than Tomba who kept buying Wii U when a new game he wanted to play was released. LOL.)
Anyway, so now im getting it back and should be here on Thursday. The entire point of this extra long post is the following -
Forza Horizon 3 base game and Blizzard Mountain look AMAZING on a console that has only 1.8TF of power so that makes me wonder what can be done with Scorpio BUT only if it's not being held back by the base console. Still truly believe that mid-gen consoles are going to be more of a negative than a positive when all is said and done and really wish that both Sony and Microsoft would have just waited for PS5 and Xbox 4.
Really hoping Scorpio is not connected to Xbox One. Simply see it as being the better move in my opinion for so many reasons. E3 2017 will definitely be interesting to say the least.
And if anyone has any info on if State of Decay 2 can be played completely solo, please let me know as that would make me very happy. Thanks and sorry for the long dragged out post.
