Microsoft would never run into shortage issues like Nintendo. Worst that will happen is initial pre orders will sell out but they will go right back up shortly.

Re: Xbox One
Well you are making me optimistic now I will get one. I would hope so because I plan to sell my Xbox One S prior to launch. I will def make sure I have a solid preorder though before doing that of course.

Re: Xbox One
Once pre-orders go up, check to see if GameStop is doing any trade in offers towards Scorpio since you're selling the Slim. Don't know how much you're looking to sell the Slim for but if it's the same or more at GameStop towards Scorpio, you'll probably be better off pre-ordering from there since the credit from the Slim would lower the price of Scorpio.
That's what I'm doing if and when they have that deal, but I'm in no rush. They don't market the X well there will be plenty on shelves as Kerri a report I read a few weeks ago with only like less then 20 percent of gaming community even knows this system exist or even will in November. Casual gamer doesn't even know about it

Re: Xbox One
Respawn dev explains in detail:
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost...&postcount=285
What dynamic supersampling does is the same as the downscaling to maintain 60 hz, but in the opposite direction. We internally render everything HIGHER than the output resolution when possible and then downsample it to fit the output resolution - much like how the PS4 Pro version looks better on a 1080p than it would if we rendered at just 1080p. The end result of this is that we can have the GPU cooking at 100% utilization regardless of action on screen since we're scaling down and up to maintain 60 hz.
All that said - Titanfall 2 running on the X1X devkit at my desk does NOT reliably run at any internal resolution. The output resolution is 4K, but its rarely sitting on just 4K. It'll dip and rise constantly, the same way as a PC game running uncapped will never sit at just one framerate. What we've essentially (in theory) done is gone from a locked resolution and variable framerate, to a "locked" framerate and variable resolution. This does not mean the game is always 60 hz, as there are points in the game where we are not GPU limited (or we are GPU limited, but the lower bound isn't low enough to maintain 60 hz - try getting a dozen Scorch Titans all throwing incendiary traps in one spot :P). In instances where we are CPU bound, we actually increase resolution until we become GPU bound. Keep that GPU pumping! As for the "6K" comment - given the previous explanations - I was playing some REDACTED on Wargames and happened to see the scale factor was at ~1.5X while shooting some grunts. 3840x2160 x 1.5 = 5760x3240. As I originally said - no guarantees on internal resolution at any time - but it was pretty amazing to see how high it was going. Good times.
*Whew*
Oh, and "true 4K" - whatever that means. Titanfall 2 on X1X will output at 4K and render at a multitude of resolutions depending on action. There is no such thing as needing "4K assets" to make this happen. If you're playing on high-end PC at 4K you're experiencing an extremely similar game as I'm describing. We will be playing with some detail knobs for X1X (much like how PS4 Pro has some higher details - but nothing major), but it is not "Ultra" PC settings. Specifically, since it was mentioned in here, our ambient occlusion isn't console friendly. As for those asking for higher framerates instead - consoles are limited to 60 hz because of TV displays. If you want higher framerate, play on PC! I love my 1440p 144hz GSync monitors.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Xbox One
Love the guy blaming TV's for the lack of higher frame rates. What a crock of crap. Frame rates are normally always tied to the console's CPU and this generation, both of the console's CPU's are currently, old, outdated and obsolete and no amount of modifications or customizations is going to change that.
Not surprised by all the "positive" talk around Scorpio. Pro was exactly the same crap a year ago. In a year from now, it will all be "meh". Scorpio is a mid gen refresh with 4K/HDR, nothing more and nothing less. Same as the Pro.
Can't wait to see digital foundry dissect the games once Scorpio comes out and see some people who buy Scorpio complain about how it's underwhelming just like the Pro was/is for some.
Gotta love the hype train!!! LOL.Comment

Re: Xbox One
If you mean trading in your current Xbox One console towards Scorpio to Best Buy, as much as I prefer them, have GCU and buy 90% of my gaming stuff from them, their trade in values for consoles suck, plain and simple. GameStop actually gives you more CASH than Best Buy gives you credit. You would actually be losing money/credit by trading in consoles to Best Buy unless they have some good promotion which they rarely do for consoles.Comment

Re: Xbox One
People will be disappointed and underwhelmed simply because their expectations are too high and weren't more grounded and realistic. I know exactly what it will all be and what will happen. Same crap as Pro. Every publisher and developer pimp it out like it's some awesome thing trying to fool and trick people.
First party games will be the games that take full advantage of the console's power and specs because they only have to develop for one brand as opposed to third parties who have to develop for two brands. And this doesn't even include PC.
Pro has a very small/minimal install base and considering the price difference and what it could end up being by October, Scorpio will be even smaller and outside of the first party games, publishers are going to focus on the bigger install base because that's where they will make the most money.
I'm not bashing Scorpio. The console itself is impressive but like Pro, I know exactly what it is and how the publishers are going to look at it. They're not going to pour a ton of money, time and resources into the console that has a zero user install base.
EA and a few other companies have marketing deals with Microsoft for a few games so it makes sense just like Activision/Bungie pimping out PS4 Pro. It goes both ways. After Pro, I have seen through all of their bullcrap.
Not expecting anything mind blowing and far superior compared to what im already getting/playing.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I just realize that last year, all the talk once Pro was revealed was all hype and positive for the most part. Same thing here. Basically, it's just a repeat of what you heard and read eight months ago.Comment
