I think Microsoft is growing tired of playing second fiddle in the console world. I don't think they will ever match Sony's console sales but they are implementing some real nice ideas to attract gamers to their platform. I've been a PlayStation guy for the most part this generation but I'm finding myself on the one x more and more. What used to be 80% PlayStation and 20% Xbox is now about 50/50.

Re: Xbox One
For me, whichever console I buy first is my primary for the duration of the generation. For this gen, it's PS4/PS4 Pro. Last gen, it was Xbox 360. While it could easily go back to Microsoft next gen (especially if they release Xbox 4 months earlier than PlayStation 5 does), for this gen, my Xbox One X (and Switch for that matter) is just for exclusives. Only have room for one console in my TV stand and when I have two Sony exclusives and two Sega Japanese exclusives within six months along with multi-platform games, there's simply no reason for me to keep swapping consoles in and out.
As of right now, the next exclusive im waiting for on Xbox One X is Ashen which still doesn't have a release date. Excluding Ashen, who knows. For Switch, the next exclusive im interested in is Fire Emblem Three Houses but this is 50/50 where as Ashen is a guarantee.
For me personally, it's about exclusives first and foremost. Since the days of SNES, always has been and always will be simply because it's the exclusives that draw me to buying your console and more importantly, keeping it.
Right now, there's nothing for me on Xbox One X but future wise, im very much looking forward to Gears 5 which looks amazing and they added melee combat which makes me very excited for the game. Interested in the return of Battletoads and hoping that it's a full fledged beat em' up. One of my favorite genres back in the day. As previously mentioned, Ashen looks great and is already confirmed for Game Pass day one so that's a huge positive not that I would mind buying it. After all, I spent $50 on SOD 2 UE and quit it after 15 hours so I don't mind taking chances here and there. Halo Infinite has my interest but im fully expecting this to be a next gen launch title as it should be in my opinion.
One thing is certain though - in my closet or connected to my 4K HDR TV, nothing beats owning all three consoles simply because I know that there will be a few games that I'll want to play on the other two consoles so when those games get released, it's great knowing that console is ten feet away in my closet because this way, I can't lose and get to play whatever I want whenever I want.Comment

Re: Xbox One
MS knows it won't beat PS4 this gen, but with Game Pass, probable secret streaming stuff, and trying to beef up first party games they're working for the future.
Especially since a next gen system will play current gen games (at least MS, maybe not PS4), the Game Pass aspects are big. They're definitely making the infrastructure more and more interesting, and I'm not sure that Sony's doing as much in this area. Maybe Sony doesn't need to, but MS is definitely doing more to make me want to stick with them over just a more powerful system (which PS4 was to start this gen, though the One X is better now).
Definitely interested in what the future holds....Sony seems somewhat stuck in their ways (cross platform gaming, no EA Access or any type of thing like Game Pass), but they may be doing stuff we don't know about too.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Let's not have another war, they are both nice systems that offer advantages over the other.
Competition is good for us, I want them to keep trying to go at Sony and other competitors and I want Sony to feel more pressure and continue to innovate/offer more consumer friendly services.

Re: Xbox One
Anyone had any issues with the Xbox One X not going into instant-on mode? I keep finding that although mine is correctly set to instant-on it seems as if it is really turned off most of the time because when I turn it on it takes a good while and gives me the boot screen.
Also when it's in that "deep sleep" or off mode the controller often does not turn it on and the Kinect "Xbox On" definitely does not turn it on.
Once I get it turned on and running everything works fine, just really annoying though.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Yeah, I'm going over to the Microsoft store here Saturday morning and I'll ask them about it while I am over there. Just a minor annoyance is all. Maybe my X is hating on me since it knows I have posted stuff about how great the PS4 Pro is online, LOLStreaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Xbox One
I’m in the preview program so any minor annoyances I usually just chalk up to that.
I dusted off my pro for free destiny 2 yesterday. Been a VR machine for the past year or so. Excited for Spider-Man but I might wait for a price drop and play through GOW 3 since we are getting that for free too.Comment
