If you received an email from Microsoft Store with the title "Save $100 on Xbox One X consoles", make sure you click on the red Christmas trees. It will take you to a link to redeem a $10 MS account credit.

I got the email yesterday, but others are just getting it today.

Tried it and they'd already been claimed, but that was cool.

Need to get a new controller and was thinking about getting an elite one. To those that have one are they a lot better than the regular controllers?

Yes. Should be able to try it at your local Best Buy or something if you want to feel it. But mine was worth every penny, was super happy the tacobox came with one so we got a second.

            Re: Xbox One

Quick question for you guys with multiple consoles...

I'm going to trade in my old X360 that just collects dust.

I'm going to move my XB1 up to that room, and pick up a XB One X for my main living room/gaming room.

I'm the only one in the house who will use either one for gaming. Wife will use the box just to stream netflix typically.

So that will leave me 2 XB1's in the house. One gamertag/Xbox live account. All of my games are on an external drive. So really, if I just unplug the drive from one box, and plug it into another, games will work seamlessly as long as I'm logged in, correct?

Can I be logged in to my XBL account on one box, and my wife be using the other box logged in as well, but in netflix? Similar to how it works with the XB1 & Xb360?

Lastly... if I left a few select games on the internal hard drive on one box, and the external while hooked up to the other, I technically wouldn't have to move the hard drive, just sign in, correct?

I'm not worried about her playing games on one, and me on another... that's not ever going to happen. Just wanting to make sure I can move between the two to game if necessary.

Cloud saves sync when you start/quit games, so yeah, install your most played on both and enjoy.

Should work the same as your x1 and 360. The one she uses most often should be your home console so that it doesn't matter who is logged in.

Oh, so I still have to set one as home? I cant just leave them be, and turn on whichever one I'm going to use to play a game on and log into my gold profile that way? While leaving an "offline - non-gold" profile for her to use with netflix etc?

If she isn't playing games, you don't really have to worry about the home console. The one you mark as home allows other profiles to play your digital games and access your gold account...but Netflix doesn't require gold so it won't matter at all.

HOWEVER - I did notice in your original post about her not having a profile...the thing is you cannot have yours signed into two consoles at a time. And for whatever reason, Netflix requires an account to be signed in to use it. So you would not be able to play a game on one while she watches Netflix on the other...unless you create a separate gamer tag for her.

And that actually is the one thing I hate about using them as a streaming box, for when we have visitors in the house. I can put an old XBO in a guest bedroom to stream, but it requires a gamertag to be signed in to watch Netflix/hulu/etc. Media apps really need to work without a profile.

Yes, she would need the gamertag so she doesn't log you out.

The Home Xbox will let everyone use games you own. You have to be logged into any other Xbox otherwise, so most set the Living Room one as Home and the other one that you log into (unless she uses another room more then flip it).

So generally speaking, the one I'm going to game on most set as home. The one that will be more streaming/media and occasional gaming I can create a tag/profile for her to do that stuff, and log myself into my account whenenver I game on it, right?

Why did they make this so confusing lol

It's the opposite. The one she'll use most set as home, because any profile on it can use your games.

The one you'll use the most you'll want to log onto anyways, so just do that and you'll have access to everything that way.

Can't wait to finish copying a few games from the external to the internal of the old XB1, then get the XB1X hooked up. My new TV to accompany it will follow in a couple months then I'm really ready to go. Hopefully I at least notice some upgrade in the meantime. I've waited this long to get one, so another month can't hurt now that it's here.

Also, once setup I believe you can install from one Xbox once on the same network. Haven't messed with that since it was in beta though myself.

I saw that setting once I got it up and running. Too late now lol

Amazed how much quicker it loads. Some of the games that seemed to struggle a bit too with frame rates (Nascar Heat 3) is smooth now, looks smoother too which i assume is the resolution boost. F1 is alot smoother. Madden too. I'm actually surprised I notice this much difference visually. Didn't think I would, figured itd be just load times.

Can't wait to get that new TV now.

Awesome! How do you do this? Is it just a checkbox in a setting or an option when installing games? Would save me the time of unplugging and going upstairs to copy stuff.
