23, how is the online situation for NBA 2k15 on PC? Is the servers still filled with issues?

I dont play online but from all accounts those patches helped alleviate alot of the early issues.

Online still needs work, but I enjoyed the times I played quick games against people. There wasn't much cheese or anything like that. MyPark is a whole other story. It is filled with 7-foot PGs that can shoot from anywhere. And the body/stat hacks are ridiculous.

To sum it up, play regular games online and stay away from MyPark unless you have a group of friends you want to play with/against.

This and The Witcher 3 have been designated as PC buys for awhile now. No way I could get them, especially Project CARS on console. Just looks too good.

              Total War Attila - $33.74
              Trine 3 - $17.99
              Assassin's Creed Chronicles China - $9.99

I'm really let down by Attila. Had that game for a while and just isn't as good as it could be. Total War series have really went down the drain over the years.

Trine and Trine 2 are great games. I'm pretty excited for Trine 3 and I haven't even completed the first two yet.

I'm in the same boat for Witcher 3 .

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread

What do you guys think of this whole "pay for mods" initiative that Valve, using Skyrim as the spearhead, has introduced on Steam? Just reading up on it this morning and my gut reaction is, "well, the good old days are officially over."

                      Spoiler

That's obviously just me looking at it from the perspective of a leecher, or user. Buying a game and improving it with mods made by the community is why I made the permanent switch to PC gaming in the first place. It was fan made, free DLC essentially that improved and sometimes outright fixed the games that I played. I'm sure there will still be modders who stick to that idea or make compromises(here is an open letter of one such that I respect) but realistically, I know the majority will choose to get paid and can I really blame them? Some have already pulled or stopped updating their mods on Nexus to go to Steam Workshop (which is "a-whole-nother" headache for me). This will essentially kill the "community" aspect of modding community.

Of course, looking at it from the point of view of a creator I can't get mad that they will be rewarded for their efforts. But I guess the naive view that I had of the reward coming from having the work be well received, donations from grateful users or hell, getting a job in the industry wasn't enough. Likewise, the reward for the developer/publishers and third party sellers being a continuing stream of revenue from people who became interested in and purchased titles not just for the experience of the game as it was shipped, but it's modding community as well wasn't enough either.

It just seems to me that this is yet another turn in the long road of what gaming has become and is continuing to evolve into: nickeling and diming the public in a never ending series of microtransactions. Now, instead of feeling like a community, it's just another corporate money grab(mod authors get 25% of a sale, while Valve and the publisher/developer split the remaining 75%. Also mod authors don't see a payout unless and until they make at least $400 of sales). Who knows where we'll go from here, but it's clear(to me anyway) that the best days are behind us.

Yet another chapter to add in my "Why I'm Moving to GoG" book. I'm glad GoG Galaxy is finally in beta...I just hope it gets released soon.

On a similar note, this makes me even happier I bought Witcher 3 from GoG.

Have just as much intention going elsewhere as I am likely to use this paid modding stuff. Will be interesting to see how they respond to the interwebs spasming over it.

The pay for mods opens a whole new set of problems. I don't like it either. For example:

I heavily modded Skyrim but not all of them worked well and/or crashed my game all together. If I paid money for those mods and the creator never updated or worked out the bugs are we entitled to a refund? I wouldn't even attempt to mod my game if I had to pay for most of them.

People can abuse this system and make a quick cash grab if used properly. I would have much rather seen a donate button added. This move can really hurt the modding scene.

I'm not down with paying for mods. Didn't like Vlad charging for it with NBA 2K so no way will I do it on Steam. It is just going to ruin Steam. Going to have 100s of people churning out mods everyday just to make a profit.
