I've purchased Outland, Bioshock 1, & Minerva's Den, and that will probably be it for me on the sale. Wanted to grab the Skyrim DLC but got hosed on that front.

I played this sale pretty low key. Only picked up the following:

        - Kaponito All Stars Soccer (awesome game btw)
        - rFactor 2 w/ lifetime subscription
        - WWE 2k16

I think the only things I bought were this morning.

Grabbed Tales of Symphonia, Hyper Light Drifter and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

Nothing else really looked intriguing or had a good sale going on.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread

            Okay I need help:

I am wanting to get into steaming live HD and recording to do highlights and YouTube videos.

I am looking at getting the Elgato HD60 Pro but wonder if my setup will cause issues:

            i5-3570K 3.4ghz
            16 GB Ram
            Gigabyte Intel Z77 Motherboard
            Radeon 7850 2GB (x2 crossfire)

I'm thinking of ditching my crossfire and just getting a Nvidia card.

Is there any other issues I'll have with my current build? Thanks fellas.

            Edit::

Forgot to add I use Adobe Premier and After Effects. And that I'm not going hardcore streaming just casual and some YouTube videos for fun.

Ditch that crossfire and just get a Nvidia, like a 970 and above, works much better with Adobe Premiere and After Effects. Might want to double your RAM too. Adobe Premiere is a RAM hog. The more you have the better it runs. I personally have 48GB of DDR4, RAM is cheap nowadays so why not. Adobe Premiere uses all of it too.

You are fine on the streaming front since everything is handled on the Elgato HD60 Pro. You just won't be able to use the stream command function because that requires an I7 I believe. But hey you can use OBS and do the same thing stream command does.

Not sure if there are still sales going on, but 980Ti's were just under $300 for the last day or three. That's an amazing deal.

Alright thanks, I wish I could've gotten Nvidia to begin with instead but lesson learned.

I might upgrade ram eventually, haven't had any issues before but I'm sure I would benefit greatly.

                  Thanks for the help man

Only game I ended up getting was South Park: Stick of Truth. Already own everything else I wanted, or it was still too expensive knowing I wouldn't play it for a while.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread

I think I'm going to go with the 1070 for my new build. I was originally going to go with the 1080 but I don't see myself going to 1440p resolution any time soon. After watching benchmark videos on Youtube, the 1070 can easily handle any game at max settings at 1080p. Plus I'd be saving myself close to 400$ Canadian as well.

So here's the build I'm thinking of going with, any thoughts or suggestions?

                      CPU: i5 6600k
                      Mobo: ASUS Z170-A
                      GPU: 1070
                      PSU: EVGA 220-G2-0650-Y1 80 PLUS GOLD 650W
RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB 3000mhz
                      CPU Cooler: Corsair H100I
HDD: WD 1TB Black (keeping from my current build)
SSD: 240GB SSD (keeping from current build)
Case: NZXT H440 (keeping from current build)

Depending on the case size (I haven't looked it up) I would suggest a cheaper air CPU cooler.

I have an i7-3930k overclocked to 3.9GHz (up from 3.2GHz) with the Cooler Master D92 (didn't get the Hyper 212 Evo due to size.)

These are my temps. Save yourself a nice chunk of cash. All-in-one water coolers are super overrated and air performs just as well, if not better.

That's a cooler than can be picked up for $39.99USD (or maybe cheaper) on sale.

You're not showing anything. You're showing a processor running at no load with a severe underclock.

I was in game when my picture was taken.

Nobody lies about AMD being hotter. That's in relation to graphics cards. AMDs processors have a lower safe max temp. That's why your max is 70C and mine is 91C. Especially the Vishera series.

Intel will run warmer for processors.

See I wanted to the air cooling route as I prefer air cooling over liquid cooling. Only issue that's present is that the the majority of coolers available for LGA 1151 socket are liquid. So the issue I've been debating is whether I go with the new Skylake architecture and benefit from DDR4 RAM and better performance and OC'ing with the 6600k, or do I go the 4690K route and stick with DDR3 RAM?
