Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Not running anything super powerful but bumping up to the new Nvidia 1080 card, need a new monitor for the computer as I'm moving my BenQ 60hz to the consoles so in the market for a new monitor anyway, figure might as well get something that might be overkill now but will be able to keep up in the next few years as more and more games start to push to 4K capabilities, they really aren't that much more expensive when compared to the better options of what I have now so if I'm going to spend the money either way imo might as well get something that is more future proof

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Well picked up a 4K monitor since been looking to upgrade although I stayed with the 60hz as its not necessary for me right now to push to the more expensive 144hz for 4K as its looking like those frame rates even 60hz at 4K is still a ways away. I went with LG 28" which after a full day of using it with both PC and consoles and minor tweaking on picture settings I must say is a really nice set so far (fingers crossed)

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Can anyone recommend some good multiplayer games for a group of 4-6 guys? It doesn't have to be a very specific genre of games. We play Rainbow Six Siege against others when we have 4 or 5, then we go and play Disco Dodgeball against one another for fun. We're looking at the newest Splinter Cell since it is only like $5 and it seems like it would be fun to play against one another. Any other good titles out there like Splinter Cell or not like it either that you all recommend?“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
We do a LAN designed around those numbers every January.
This past January the playlist was:
Sol Survivor
Killing Floor 2*
Rocket League*
Dead Realm
Depth*
Carma
Sword Coast Legends
Grand Theft Auto 5*
insurgency
Asterisked titles were the most successful. We also bust out Warcraft 3 every LAN and do some tower defense still. Sanctum / Sanctum 2 are good for 4. A few of the above are best with a specific number too, so worth checking out Co-optimis for max players and reviews. I wish that data was in Steam, I tagged a ton of titles with tags similar to '4-player-coop' but nothing really stuck.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
True on the 4:3 but there's lots of quality streamers that have 144 hz monitors and these guys swear by it.
Also many laptops on Win10 don't stretch 4:3, even when plugged into a monitor.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Oh, don't get me wrong. 144Hz is great. I love mine.
Just a 4K/144Hz monitor is so overkill at this point (especially since we're far away from getting anywhere near those frames) you're better served getting a 1440p one and waiting for the 4k/144Hz price drop that will come in 5-6 years when those targets are actually viable.badComment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Played it for around hour or two, its really fast paced. Reminds me of a cross between COD Advanced warfare and the old Tribes (if you remember that lol).
Its so so, fun to screw around with but couldn't see buying and putting the time in. To many other great team based shooters, this just lacks depth in my opinion. Now that could be the alpha with only 2 maps, 2 modes, 4 heroes, but I don't see it being much more in-depth.Comment
