So I just got back from Microcenter with a brand new MSI RX 480! I got the 4GB version since I will never play on resolution higher than 1080p.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
The final part #4 of the Sorcery! series was just released on steam and I can't wait to dive in. Loved the gamebooks as a kid and heard the digital versions were very well done.
The Warlock of Firetop Mountain also came out recently and I have my eyes on that one too. Looks cool.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I've been playing the Witcher for the past few nights, I never got into the serious but I love it! Very excited because my next couple hundred gaming hours are going to the Witcher series.

If it makes you feel any better I had to return some RAM to that store once and it was a flawless transaction. [emoji6]

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
You were right about their service at that store...it was awesome all the way around. Nice to speak and listen to people that actually know about computers (looking at you Best Buy!).
I have a find a new card that is not taller than 5". Time to start researching...Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
So after researching current generation GPUs based on my case's size constraints, I've come up with the following list of suitable GPUs:- Sapphire Nitro+ RX 480 OC 8GB
Gigabyte RX 480 G1 Gaming 8GB
XFX RX 480 8GB w/ DD Heatsink
MSI GTX 1060 OC 6GB (not the Gaming X version)
Gigabyte GTX 1060 Mini OC 3GB
Zotac GTX 1060 Mini 6GB
I'm looking for the best bang for my buck, while also ensuring the new card is super quiet and cool. Noise is a big deal since I play in a very open area...and it keeps my wife from yelling at me
.
Any thoughts from the crowd? All the cards are between $200 - $300 and in-stock at my local Microcenter.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Go with the 1060 for quite and cool, and make sure to get a 6GB version. The MSI card is clocked higher and has more potential for overclocking.
1060 is probably the card I will be getting soon if the EVGA versions will stop selling out in hours.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Consider this a 3rd vote for the 1060.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Thanks for the inputs. Bad news is, the MSI one is out of stock now at my local Microcenter; however, the good news is, I can look outside of MC for cards that fit. So that may open up the aperture a little bit (Zotac, EVGA, etc.).
Off we go into the wild abyss that is GPU shopping!Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Well, the EVGA 1060 single fan would fit nicely in my case...and the numbers are pretty impressive. Here's the card: http://www.evga.com/Products/Product...06G-P4-6163-KR
Amazon has it in stock for MSRP ($259), so I may pull the trigger on this one.Comment
